    • Yesterday, Cavallini subbed on in the 57th minute of a 1-0 loss to Cruz Azul.
    • Point me to where I said it will work. If/when you grasp that I haven't actually done that in this thread you might begin to grasp the reasons for the ironic reference to a well known quantum physicist or not as the case may be I really couldn't care less at this point. To try and get this thread back on track what I did suggest is that wait for it drum roll .... Project 8 would probably be better off focusing on markets where there is no MLS or CanPL club such as Edmonton, Quebec City, K/W, London and possibly a Laval rather than a Montreal club. Those with some level of familiarity with Canada's geography might have been able to discern that if Halifax were dropped and Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary were retained you could piece together east and west conferences in the Quebec-Windsor corridor and Alberta-BC from the possibilities I am suggesting. Not sure what they would be best doing with a fourth team out west but maybe that's where Kelowna finally fits in or you could have a Fraser Valley team as well as a Vancouver one. Think the ferry ride makes Greater Victoria less than ideal but Project 8 does open up interesting possibities for the City of Langford on how to still have a pro soccer tenant from 2025 onwards for a non-expanded Starlight Stadium...
    • I'm very excited to see how Halifax lines up and also how the new pieces work with the existing team.
    • ^^^looks like this guy needs a reality check as to what the audience reach of this forum is. There have been about 95000 views of this thread so far. That sounds like a big number but there have been 1600 posts so that translates to about 60 views per post or about the combined size of the York United and Vancouver FC active fan groups on a good day. This forum is skewed very heavily towards the sort of people who would be doing that and nothing like as much to the far larger number of fans that are in the supporters sections for TFC and Whitecaps games or to the still larger number of people who are active participants in grassroots level soccer in Canada and have only a modest level of interest at best in the domestic pro soccer scene. The problems start when people making decisions within Canadian soccer get it in their heads that the views they see posted on forums like this are representative of how the mainstream soccer community views things. CanPL investors do genuinely appear to have believed that there was a market for York 9 when the team launched and that Paul Beirne was doing something useful for them when he was posting on here a lot and doing podcasts with the sort of soccer fans who tend to post here. It wasn't just me who was posting the cold hard reality that York 9 would be doing well to attract 1000 regular fans but in a forum as severely skewed away from the norm as this place that wound up being portrayed as an outlandish minority perspective.
    • Easy enough to check how ticket sales are going for Vancouver FC on the Showpass website. Not well is the executive summary and it doesn't provide much support for the notion that the side with the cameras is not as sparse as the side used for group sales.
