Unnamed Trialist
[Updated 21-7-24: pls send corrections and updates] Goals in Top Flight Leagues by Canadians These are league goals only in top flights of respective nations, not national Cup or European/Concacaf (pls help or correct). I have tended to ignore pre-history or pre-modern leagues. Included are goals in championship rounds or relegation rounds that are still part of the respective top flight, as occurs in many leagues. We have two players with over 100 top flight league goals: Tomasz Radzinski and Dwayne de Rosario. If this topic is covered somewhere, let me know so we can close this. Only Stalteri and De Guzman have scored in more than one top league. One thing that would be interesting to add to the board would be an overall Canadian stats spreadsheet or similar, as a reference. England-EPL Yallop-3 (perhaps scored before EPL but in top flight for Ipswich Town?) Yallop scored in EPL, 2 of them were in 3 days actually at end of Jan in 93. I tried to do a check and apparently, when he was at Ipswich before the founding of the EPL, he did not score. Could try to check again.

I now find, on two different sources, but not Transfermarkt, he had 59 total at Maritimo in top fight Portugal, plus two more in other competitions. And no goals when he was at West Ham. Bison44
Bunbury has always been a favorite of mine, good to see him get his props. Unnamed Trialist

From some reason the Transfermarkt stats on Alex are truncated. I think it's revenge on his legacy for being such a schmuck about his Quebec CPL franchise. Obinna
I like this topic. Good stuff UT. Really puts into perspective how good some of our guys currently are, and how good some of our less lauded guys have been in the past. Rob Friend, for example, wasn't always appreciated I felt, but his 10 Bundesliga goals stand out compared to what others have done. Another thing that stands out is Larin with 10 La Liga goals already, in what should be a multi-year stay in the division. Of course, David is immense with 58 Ligue 1 goals despite being days from his 24th birthday. And shout out to Hoilett with his 16 EPL goals. nolando and johnyb

GasPed
Should also mention that Carl Valentine scored 6 for West Brom, back when First Division was the top league. narduch

Larin, is coming on his first anniversary in La Liga at the end of the month. Not bad. But we are a long way, in any league at all, from a Concacaf player like Panama's Julio César Dely Valdes, who scored 89 goals in 5 seasons in Spain. Hastings never scored in the top flight despite how many games he played. Corazon, MauditYvon, Obinna and 3 others 5
