The internet tells me kiap means know-it-all-people. I couldn't find no kiap. Maybe Okello is telling Ayo not to act like a know-it-all. A guess on my part.

Lol you went to deep Sal.

It’s the same meaning. “No Kiap” “no Kizzy” all mean “no cap” just different slang or ways to say it.

So now we know it’s that’s deep.

Or he realized that people were misinterpreting it and thought it wasn't worth it.

There needs to be a moratorium on reading into social media posts around here.  These are kids having fun, living their lives on social media like anyone else their age.  They just have more eyeballs on theirs.

Yep. It is difficult to imply intent or context with social media messages. Some can be sinister for sure but at face value what Ayo said seems harmless enough.

The whole comments are Much Ado About Nothing. We all spent the whole year complaining about the lack of opportunities for these young guys, how could they not feel the same? If it was a dig at TFC management, who cares, we all agree TFC has mismanaged their youth. If it was simply a celebration of a guy making a big career move away from the academy system, again, who cares, let the guys be happy for the kid and I'm glad the rest seemingly have ambition to do the same.

95% of this board, minus the diehard TFC supporters think that the young Canadians didn't get a fair shot. It's not unlikely that the actual players feel the same way.

I can imagine being Peruzza and seeing Mullins and Dwyer run around for 90 ineffective minutes and wonder why I was recalled from a loan to sit on the bench. Or in Dunn's case see Omar's mistakes lead to goal after goal and Zav be his normal self and wonder how after having a successful loan not get any playing time.

In Dunn’s case he was injured this season for most of it .

Guys, c'mon. Not again lol

Didn't we learn our lesson with Phonzie's tweet?

If Dunn is saying there isn't much to it, there probably isn't much to it.

I don't see some sort of mutiny leaking out of social media, all I see are some of his ex-teammates being happy for him.

Have you ever reached out to congratulate a former co-worker on their new job opportunity? It's a pretty standard practice, but I think we forget that sometimes.

Even Osorio and Laryea, apparently, feel  they have to get out of TFC to be properly considered for the Canadian NT with Qatar looming. Or at least express such ambition. It is not just kids who have not gotten minutes.

In any case great move for the kid, and surprising, I'd say, would have never imagined a new arrival to Norway top flight would sign a guy with so few minutes. But let's trust their scouting.

I don't think that Herdman is really judging our MLS core based merely on being at that level, as it is a level that gives us a solid ground on which to build, and has ensured results for us. Especially in goal and the back line, but also moving forward. But you do realise that there is a message about ambition that is extending through the MLS ranks. Next player who may have to think hard and not sit on his laurels: Piette.

I do think, however, this vindicates some of the frustration many here express with the gall of TFC supporters who seem to believe they are god's gift to the nation, making lists where every imaginable piece of scrub from TFC just must be on an extended NT roster, or called for our January camp. Some of these lists conveniently left off Teibert, and even Brault-Guillard. The lack of respect and provincialism when it comes to a disastrous club, this year, is a bit much. And then we have to swallow the national press following suit with this fawning and ignorant bias.

I agree with a lot of what was said here.  We are definitely nitpicking and they are all kids (or barely not kids)  in an era of social media dominance.  They should be cut some slack. But a couple of comments…

I don’t think it is offside to interpret the initial tweet and response with a bit of a question mark.  Akinola still hasn’t agreed a new contract with TFC and Okello has struggled for opportunities - and given all that has gone on with the (lack of) youth opportunities for some guys the statement “first out” has a slightly different vibe to it than “congratulations”.  Same as the no 🧢 from Okello.  That isn’t something you would likely say to someone just celebrating someone’s transfer.  Lastly, no one here (that I can recall) was ripping them a new one or calling the Judas for making these posts - they were simply pointing out that it was potentially risky while still under contract (or renegotiating one) and that it may have been wiser to stay silent.

I agree that we shouldn’t over-react to something like this.  But I also think we shouldn’t be so naive to think that these kids who grew up on an era of social media are so incompetent at communication that they are saying something completely different and more innocent than what the initial reaction suggests.  The posts may not be a huge deal but pretending they are nothing more than a congratulatory tweet seems a bit revisionary.

This is a fair response.

There isn't "nothing" in these tweets. There are tempting threads to pull on for sure, we shouldn't deny that.

Like many things in life, the way forward is often somewhere in the middle, acknowledging the opposing view points along the way.

As long as it isn’t Hegelian.  That shit was dense.

As interpreted by Kojeve or just as is?

I agree.  I'm all for a little speculation.  But we're four months down the road from a Hoilett post that was sufficiently dissected to paint Arfield as a certified locker room cancer.  Kinda hope that doesn't happen here.

Well I'm going to simply congratulate the man.  It's a tricky business knowing when to stay and when to go but things sure look like they happened pretty fast once the decision was made.  Very fast.  So here's hoping it's goodbye to a dead-end and hello to greater opportunities.

Congratulations!  🙂

AYo is in the middle of some most likely hardball contract discussions with TFC.  He wants $$$ whether he stays or goes and a comment like that might be signaling his frustration with TFC's offers or lack of.  Maybe he is already gone...ie working on a European deal as we speak and doesnt give a flying F what TFC brass think.
