In the end, it seems to break like this.  Out of a total $72 million U$ prize pot:  $16 for 1st...$11 for 2nd...$7 for 3rd...$6 for 4th...$4 apieice for 5th thru 8th...and $2 apiece for 9th through 16th. So Canada earned $6 million U$.  An awfully lucrative tournament overall...maybe their best?  I have no idea, but it's a major result, and pots only grow after all.

There are plenty of slighter players than him that have done pretty well for themselves in this game.
