This reminds me of two things:

1) David Edgar making fun of Fraser Aird and claiming his Scottish accent was a "fake accent" :)

2) Simeon Jackson

when being interviewed for Canada:

& when being interview after joining Walsall:

At one point I used to play Halo on Xbox Live with a Scottish guy all the time and I feel like I could totally do a good Scottish accent if I wanted. I mostly just picked up a lot of (offensive) Scottish slang though lol.

Anyways I hope we hear news soon! If he goes to the championship at least I can catch a few games on DAZN.

If he impresses now either he’s sold or stays. He’s 21 this is likely the moment, let’s say he burns the championship then I’d say he ends up back and he’ll get his shot. They aren’t going to loan him out forever and pay for him to play for someone else that would be ridiculous. Let’s see where he goes first.

lol you dont follow liverpool much do you? if they dont get the price they want for liam they will just keep loaning him out, they did that with marko grujic who was very good in germany and harry wilson has been loaned out three years in a year after performing well.

I agree. This would be a level below what he'd most want, but still a level where they should play him and he'll grow, especially on a team like this which aspires to promotion.

Exactly, meaningful minutes in meaningful games this will be huge for him. He will learn how to handle pressure and big games.

How does League One and Charlton compare to the SPL and Kilmarnock?

A couple of his soon-to-be teammates have spent time in the SPL:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conor_Washington

27 year old Northern Ireland international forward. Just moved to Charlton this year and has 6 goals in 18 games. Last season he was at Hearts, where he scored 3 goals in 15 SPL games. Before that he failed to score in 15 games with Sheffield United in the Championship, but that was the year they won promotion to the Premier League and he was probably coming off the bench I am guessing. Had a productive spell in the Championship before that with QPR ( @gator can probably give insight here) and looks like he played with Junior there.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Matthews

28 year old Welsh international right back. He played with Celtic over 100 times, but has been with Charlton since 2019, with a spells at Sunderland (League 1) and Bristol City (Championship) in between.

Hard to compare leagues sometimes without direct head-to-head matches, but looking at where players have played helps give us an indirect measuring stick. Rangers and Celtic aside (who would be yo-yo Premier League/Championship clubs), it seems that upper-end SPL sides are roughly equivalent to the lower-end Championship sides, and the lower-end SPL sides may be somewhere in League 2 territory.

I will say that in this case the main difference between a players time at Kilmarnock, and a promotion chasing “League 1” side will likely be that in “League 1” a player will be able to play and express himself in different situations, 2019-2020 Kilmarnock was playing 10 behind the ball and counter attacking football.
