dyslexic nam
I know some people want to play the strongest version of the US, but I am fine with catching a bit of a break and (hopefully) grabbing 3 points. Too much riding on this to want to roll the dice any more than we have to. This could seriously be a massive step in getting us to the 2022 WC. johnyb, Ruffian, Ansem and 6 others

Kent
Proposal 1: The Phonzie Flu, as recently coined by someone on here could use the short form "Phlu". Proposal 2: Presumably Pulisic doesn't have the Phlu. It was Laryea who shut him down, so I think he must have Laryeangitis. My immune system just let's me down whenever it's time to meet up... After 3 weeks of nightmares, Pulisic was starting to settle down. Then he received an anonymous email with a video attachment. He knew he shouldn't open something from a questionable source, but he couldn't resist. It was video highlights of Bayern Munich's last two matches, including Der Klassiker against his old team in Dortmund. Surely his boys would take care of business in that one. "Wait...who's that gorgeous bastard at LB for the German giants? He looks familiar..." In the next room, people heard the cry coming from Christian's bedroom... "My hip! My hip! Somebody get me Gregg Berhalter on the phone!" The #PhonzieFlu claims another victim... Ansem, Stouffvillain, h coach and 5 others
king1010
No Pulisic is a huge bonus for us. Read Bradley was going to be called but picked up an ankle knock in the MLS cup final.
Floortom
That’s a pretty anemic attack the US has now - no Pulisic or even Altidore. Wonder how that will change our tactics
goleafs67
Oddly moments after saying he is still being evaluated Gregg confirms no Pulisic. Huge opportunity now to lock up spot in the HEX More details in quote: "Christian is officially at this stage ruled out. We just got that information. This was a collaborative decision with the club. looking after the best interest of the player. These decisions are always difficult because this group and the coaching staff want nothing more than to have Christian here, but it was a risk we weren’t willing to take at this time" https://twitter.com/USMNT/status/1193997226768568321 https://twitter.com/USMNT/status/1193997227443785728 Edited November 11, 2019 by goleafs67 Kadenge and sstackho

Kent
I really hope the USMNT fans that have been screaming for Altidore and Bradley to be dropped from the team get a harsh wake up call on Friday on what that actually looks like. dyslexic nam
So can one of the number crunchers remind me what a win would do for us in terms of hex chances? Is it still contingent on Curaçao at that point or do we control our own destiny? I know it gets us another high-point CNL game, but if we stumbled there would a win this week be enough? Obinna
Pulisic is a big loss but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are still the underdogs, or at least we should go into the match with that mentality. I hope the players, fans and media keep feet firmly on the ground. We can't afford to celebrate before the ball has been kicked. They still have some dangerous players. It is fine to up the optimism but it won't be easy. We shouldn't get carried away. CanadaFan123
Beating the USA back-to-back would be such a statement that I'm not even thinking about the Hex, points or rankings. N1ckbr0wn
We need to keep the “David vs Goliath” mentality coming into this game.. even with the US missing some notables and their golden boy, it’s important we play with the same heart we did in Toronto.
