I know some people want to play the strongest version of the US, but I am fine with catching a bit of a break and (hopefully) grabbing 3 points.  Too much riding on this to want to roll the dice any more than we have to.

This could seriously be a massive step in getting us to the 2022 WC.

You're right..I could use a stress free football game

Watching Davies and David destroying their defense while Piette destroys their offence...

It's like dating someone you don't want to hang out with... My immune system just let's me down whenever it's time to meet up...

After 3 weeks of nightmares, Pulisic was starting to settle down. Then he received an anonymous email with a video attachment. He knew he shouldn't open something from a questionable source, but he couldn't resist. It was video highlights of Bayern Munich's last two matches, including Der Klassiker against his old team in Dortmund. Surely his boys would take care of business in that one.

"Wait...who's that gorgeous bastard at LB for the German giants? He looks familiar..."

In the next room, people heard the cry coming from Christian's bedroom...

"My hip! My hip! Somebody get me Gregg Berhalter on the phone!"

The #PhonzieFlu claims another victim...

Oddly moments after saying he is still being evaluated Gregg confirms no Pulisic.

Huge opportunity now to lock up spot in the HEX

More details in quote:
"Christian is officially at this stage ruled out. We just got that information. This was a collaborative decision with the club. looking after the best interest of the player. These decisions are always difficult because this group and the coaching staff want nothing more than to have Christian here, but it was a risk we weren’t willing to take at this time"

No Pulisic is a huge bonus for us. Read Bradley was going to be called but picked up an ankle knock in the MLS cup final.

My sources tell me that Bradley was fine at full-time on Sunday. However, while lined up to collect their runners up medals, Liam Fraser was seen to whisper in his ear, "See you on Friday, Skipper." Suddenly, poor Michael felt a twinge in his ankle. #Apprenticitis

Or maybe he has a "Hairline Fraser".

I like yours a lot better.

Pulisic is a big loss but let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are still the underdogs, or at least we should go into the match with that mentality. I hope the players, fans and media keep feet firmly on the ground.

We can't afford to celebrate before the ball has been kicked. They still have some dangerous players. It is fine to up the optimism but it won't be easy. We shouldn't get carried away.

So can one of the number crunchers remind me what a win would do for us in terms of hex chances?   Is it still contingent on Curaçao at that point or do we control our own destiny?

I know it gets us another high-point CNL game, but if we stumbled there would a win this week be enough?

Not enough mathematically.

  We Win Draw Loss
Canada v USA 0.3245390261 16.88652435 4.386524348 -8.113475652
Honduras vs T&T 0.64447363 8.88815925 -3.61184075 -16.11184075
El Salvador vs Montserrat 0.836306278 4.09234305 -8.40765695 -20.90765695
El Salvador vs Dominican Republic 0.7569338026 6.076654934 -6.423345066 -18.92334507
Curacao vs Costa Rica 0.3932542416 15.16864396 2.668643959 -9.831356041
Panama vs Mexico 0.2381578901 19.04605275 6.546052748 -5.953947252

If Curacao beat Costa Rica, they would still be about 17 or 18 points behind us. But let's say they go ahead and win the whole Nations League, they could pick up a lot of points in those 2 wins, easily more than 17 or 18.

If they don't beat CR, and we win, are we good?

Agreed.  It feels eerily like the Haiti game... I need to keep reminding myself that as a CMNT supporter, I am a lot like Charlie Brown lining up to kick the ball.  Lucy won't possibly pull it away again this time will she?

I really hope the USMNT fans that have been screaming for Altidore and Bradley to be dropped from the team get a hash wake up call on Friday on what that actually looks like.

Their trash tier fanbase is celebrating Bradley’s injury, I hope they all get to see how great their MLS midfielders are.

If they lose it will still be Bradley’s fault, and despite their lack of talent it will also be all Berhalter’s fault!
