In reading a Footy Headlines article, Nike classifies teams by tiers. Nike just downgraded Slovakia, Finland & Norway (surprised but Haaland left Nike for adidas earlier this year).

This means their kits will now be Nike teamwear - their 2020 kits were bespoke designs. This looks very much like Canada men kit's situation.

Nike also offloaded oversight of these downgraded teams to a third party to minimize costs since these kits didn't sell enough. You can't also buy these kits directly from Nike anymore. Again, this looks like Canada men's situation - not listed as an available country on nike.ca. Article says Canada men should now get an level upgrade.

RB Leipzig also lost a level.

When the Nike deal was announced, details weren't disclosed. But a Footy Headlines article from 2018 says it was likely signed for beyond 2026. Some article comments were prophetic:

"Poor naive Canadians... They won't be so excited when they'll open two crates of leftover 2016 plain white training kits with their FA logo hastly stitched on."

"Template is coming guys."

"Get ready Canada for standard templates from nike...."

"I'm not a fan of [wearing the same kits to the World Cup], to be honest," Canada defender Sam Adekugbe told The Athletic in September. "I just feel like every team should get a new kit for the World Cup because it's a symbolic event. I don't hate it, but I would have liked to have gotten a new kit, just because it's something to cherish."

While I agree with Adekugbe. The only reason they're last is we didn't get a new ones.

Overall they're not objectively that bad especially the black ones.

I think the CSA needs to do a better job selling the team in the run up and letting Nike know about our potential for sales. Look at the hockey team everyone in the stands owns a jersey we can easily sell a lot. If there's actual stock etc
