Interesting to see that Higazy, Klukowski, De Sa, and fung (all the dual-nats playing outside of Canada) did not start or come of the bench from what I read. Maybe they play the second game.

The CSA release said that Klukowski and De Sa did play.

I've only just learned about MacKenzie, but I'm convinced Pacific should be building their roster around him

Scoring 4 goals from the midfield as a 15 yr old a the Gen Adidas u17 with the Caps says a lot. You never know with these young players but you would think the Caps for now would be looking to hang on to him

I’d actually love to see a kid from Comox do well. I’m pulling for him, and I wish he was still with VI Wave and the Pacific pipeline

The U17 Camp is now over. For the second match Mexico won 3 - 0.

Here is basic the match report that includes the starting XI but not the subs:

Some highlights:

The CSA report that talks about several of our players falling ill during the camp and missing the second match:

  • 3 weeks later...

At the moment of posting this, Costa Rica U17s are holding a prep camp in Spain while the USA U17s are in southern Florida doing the same.

---

Just a reminder that the 20 to 60 player binding preliminary squad is due next week on Thursday, January 12th.

If you know of any hidden talent that the board hasn't already mentioned, now is the time to post about that player and contact Andrew Olivieri ;)

(If you are 15 to 17 and live in Brampton feel free to nominate yourself haha 😆 , if you say you're good we will trust you)

Preliminary squads of up to 60 players are due today.

Guatemala U17s are holding a camp right now.

A player of possible interest to us, as he may be a dual national is Jorge López of the Whitecaps.

Also the club listed as Juventud Canadiense for another player is apparently a club in Guatemala's 3rd tier and not in Canada :D

The Whitecaps also have a player called to the Nicaragua U17 team for a camp this month. Mateo Clark.

Matt Clark sounds just as Nicaraguan as Justin Smith sounds French. They both sound like they should be 3rd-line checkers for the Regina Pats! 😄

Besides those two Whitecaps kids there are more dual nationals.

T & T have Toronto FC's Quinton Wilson on their preliminary squad roster.

Radio-Canada's Jobin (I am a fan of his work) just released an article about Gatineau's Mikael Canales who was invited to an El Salvador U17 camp.

https://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/1950320/concacaf-association-soccer-gatineau-asg-mikael-canales

Looks like he didn't make the cut for the tournament itself but may be on their preliminary squad.

Our top end talent is usually comparable, it’s the depth at this level. FWIW the Canadian academies are considered amongst the best in MLS.

Most of the top talent doesn't play in the MLS academies lol. I don't know much about your academies but are you saying they are up there with Philly, Fc Dallas, NYFC, and Inter Mimi?

I agree Canada does not have Axel Perez, Christian Mcfarlane, or those types of players.

Thank you for the insight. Just wondering, if you don't know much about Canadian academies, how exactly do you know this?
