Transfermarkt says Nikola Borjan is the nephew of Milan Borjan (Red Star Belgrade) but Stefan said younger brother.

Is that common knowledge (Nikola with Red Star U19) because I didn't see him on the ol' MOACA

Nikola has been on the Canucks Abroad youth tab for a number of months now.

He has been with the U18 side but has played a couple of matches with the U19s.

Serbian news outlets reporting that Borjan got into an altercation with Crvena zvezda head coach Dejan Stankovic in the dressing room following the 1-1 draw against Radnik Surdulica. He is reportedly "injured" and did not appear in today's match against TSC Backa Topola (3-2 Crvena zvezda win). The rumour is that he's not actually injured and that that the coach left him out of the game sheet as discipline for the alleged altercation.

The two were seen conversing on the side of the pitch during today's match.

Stankovic is a bit of a hot head and he has previously picked fights with several other players on the team including some of the star players.

May be an image of 3 people and people standing

That was the last match prior to the winter break. The season resumes in February.

Hopefully:

1) The coach will let him go to Camp Poutine

2) The months off will allow both of them to cool their tempers and their relationship will be more cordial in February.

In the absolute hypothetical situation where we disregard his strong family roots in Serbia and where he is forced to leave Red Star because he has fallen out with the manager. where would he go? Given his level, experience, and age, where is a realistic destination for him at this point.

Turkey? MLS? France?*

His plan was to retire in 2023. If he leaves I imagine he goes to like the middle east or somewhere similar to get paid.

Italy seems like a natural destination. He was linked to Napoli before he joined Red Star, plus a lot of Serbians make there way to Serie A.
