narduch
It would probably be too costly to set up the Big O for a one off match. At least BC Place is a stadium that has good usage. Besides we sort of know that the CSA is rewarding the cities that are hosting the 2026 Workd Cup. That's why Edmonton is getting the November games and why Vancouver will get January Approve My Account Pls
xabuep2
I think it's great that they include Edmonton and it is played with the MNT in different parts of Canada. My only concern is not seeing a packed Commonwealth stadium. 55k is a very high number. The last soccer game that had a large attendance was Canada vs Brazil in 1994 with about 51K fans. Alphonso Davies, some good previous results and all the possible propaganda for the sale of tickets will be of great help.
Yoginess
As much as I want the November games out in Vancouver. I'd love if the Canada - Mexico match was out in the cold in Edmonton. We had 15k Mexico fans at BC Place last WCQ against them. Props to any Mexican fan willing to be out in the cold to support their team. dyslexic nam
grigorio
If CSA was fine with netting out a similar gate revenue in Edmonton as Toronto, it would allow tickets to be like 1/3 the average price and more likely to fill the stadium... One could hope...
boris4c
Hope to see the MNT play in Ottawa one day. The stadium is quite decent, only downside is the lack of natural turf. ronjames

It was over 53K. I know it was a much bigger event (and the tournament opener) but with some good marketing, it's not impossible. theaub
Can't see there being more than 25K for either match but still much prefer it over Vancouver.

The Big O has the issues that we all know and would take a lot more effort to prepare it for such a big match. Who knows what the quality of the pitch is at this point they have there. JamboAl
The chances of any game being in the Big O are two: fat and none, for all the reasons stated above. Free kick, SpecialK and narduch

This is why you do not want the game anywhere near the Big O. It could be outright dangerous. Hopefully they have up graded the turf since 2016 when this picture was taken. Tuscan
Anyone have any idea when general tickets for the Panama match at BMO will be released? Bringing the family, so we're going to sit as close to front row dead center of the East stand as we can. Shway and johnyb

I just read today that MLSE plans to have full capacity for the Leaf's games from the start of this season (with the Covid passport in place). NHL regular season starts on October 12th I think. I can't imagine that the Leafs would be allowed full capacity indoors but the CMNT would be put into further restrictions at an outdoor event. However, I feel like the Leafs have way more pull than the CMNT. I also agree that I believe we are waiting until the last minute as much possible again just in case something changes. It just seems strange that MLSE would be rolling out full capacity for 41 home Leaf's games but would restrict the BMO capacity outdoors for a one time event. Understanding also that CSA is involved while the Leafs are entirely MLSE. Edited September 17, 2021 by Corazon johnyb
Shway
I wonder how ticket purchasing will work with the whole vaccine passports thing. Will they add a third check to get into the stadium, i.e. Security, Vaccine scan, ticket scan? I'm wondering how this whole thing will work. Vaccine proof required at both facilities so I agree can't see how BMO field would be restricted

Watchmen
Working on the assumption the US game will be in Vancouver (and all indications are it will), capacity would be the full 55k. johnyb

JBD
This was in 2016. If people are confident with the vaccines I think we can do better in January now that players wearing the jerseys we cheer for are playing so well.
