Spungi Posted February 7, 2022 Share Posted February 7, 2022 (edited) It's kind of too bad that UEFA reorganized when they introduced the Conference League, it was nice to watch Rijeka in the Europa league when they made it. Now 1st in Croatia goes into the CL and 2 & 3 go into a qualifying round for the Europa Conference League. Rijeka is in a tough fight this year, they've finished 3rd a few years in a row and 2nd recently, currently tied for 2nd place with Osijek and Hajduk Split (more of a traditional power) is in 4th 2 pts behind with a game in hand. The Croatian League usually start up in mid-summer, so if anyone is there on vacation in August you can catch a game. Dragovoljac basically ran out of money during the fall season and most of their players left because they weren't getting paid. so Rijeka took the opportunity to have their younger players to have higher level playing while letting Dragovolljac finish out the season.
