CPL General

CPL was sanctioned at the CSA AGM, so I don't think that verification means much as there is no question that they exist as a corporate entity. The next significant announcement would be if/when they have six teams actually ready to kick a ball in anger with suitable stadiums all sorted out so they can launch. 2019 or later looks more likely than 2018 at the moment, but they do have enough interested parties to get there eventually by the sounds of things. The stadium part is the trickiest angle a lot of the time and it's not clear what K/W, Saskatchewan and Fraser Valley would do on that as they are clearly not as far along as Halifax. The CSA runs the Canadian Championship, so the ads were probably basically a freebie to fill up space and time due to limited sales to corporate buyers, unfortunately, as ratings for Voyageurs Cup games tend to be less than stellar.

This. Still glad to see it happen (although I totally didn't notice it during the game).

Well actually, regarding KW, Saskatchewan and Fraser Valley, we've heard a few times now that discussions regarding venues are actually happening but they just haven't been as public as Halifax.

Neither Regina nor Saskatoon has had anything after city Council on a potential stadium.  So in that sense Halifax is ahead.
