Herdman is saying the next big push is to get even more dual-nationals into the program.

 

Seems perhaps like getting Higazy in the U17 pool is an early example of this focus.

In addition to getting someone like Luca Koleosho in at the senior level, it’s important to start having conversations with dual-nats at an even younger age. Like you said @VinceA, Higazy is an example of this and same for Fung, Klukowski and  Stefanovic.

He could also just be talking about Akio, who recently just said to the press he wants to play for us.

i think Jebbison playing for us is a given (if he can make the squad), and I think Mitrovic is gone forever

Could be. I remember Julian Deguzman saying on a TSN panel how his nephews want to play for Canada. This was before the wc.

Given that Brady and Slonina are wonder kids, and that the US have a plethora of promising young GK’s, it doesn’t surprise me the least than Onduze would have interest. Path is very wide open for Canada.

Fwiw a few people have said there’s a kid in Vancouver who is with RB’s tournament team who is a dual but will be playing for Canada when he’s older.

Before anyone asks, he’s from Ghana and our politics blocked him from the U-17, he’s apparently got the potential to be very very good.

Can't recall the name, but 1 is a CB who currently plays for the US youth team

Holy molely, you would think Julian would know enough to keep his mouth shut.  Him saying a relative wants to play for canada is damn near the kiss of death.
