I have no definitive answer but saw his name on the team sheet this week so looked him up.

The roster on the TFC website http://www.torontofc.ca/academy/teams/roster-l1o lists his birthday as Feb. 13, 98

While the Whitecaps site lists it as July 25, 98.

Possible that there are 2 different Liam Fraser's?

this is exactly it. 2 different Liams but TFCs is better :)

I watched this match.  Thought he played well, looked very steady playing the full 90.  Physically he didn't look 16, so that was surprising to read.  He played the position that Mannella usual plays.  Had a nice range of passing and kept possession well.  Definitely a good debut.

Cockney, did the kid playing for TFC II resemble the blond haired kid in the Whitecaps profile?

edit: I think there are two Liam Fraser's. This is the TFC one's twitter, it has plenty of pics of him and doesn't look like the Vancouver Liam Fraser.

He is the same footballer. Originally from Toronto area moved to the west coast early in life and returned to TO when dad was moved back for work. Was identified by Whitecaps as early as 10 years old playing for their U12 prospects.

Thanks for the info, any connection to him?

Stumbled across this article on WakingTheRed, where it sounds like TFC may sign Fraser to an HGP deal this year....

http://www.wakingthered.com/toronto-fc/2017/3/15/14927282/viareggio-cup-captain-liam-fraser-could-be-toronto-fc-next-homegrown-signing-mls

“He's progressing very well and he's going to make a push to be on our roster this year,” said Vanney after training last week. “He's got some things that he's attending to right now. He's going to go [the] Viareggio [Cup], then there's the possibility of the Under-23s with Canada.

“We've got all kinds of stuff coming up for Liam - there won't be a shortage of games. It'll just be a matter of timing for Liam to start training with us on a more frequent basis and preparing himself to, hopefully, sign a contract and make a debut this year.”

Fraser is #15 on the USL's Top 20 under 20 list:

http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/815666?referrer_id=2333971

- Canada U20 international has made 44 appearances for TFC II

- Led CONCACAF U20 Championship group stage with 168 attempted passes

- 85 percent pass completion rate, 86 percent tackle win rate in 2017 season

TopDrawerSoccer.com Scouting Report
Liam Fraser’s one of those players most teams love to have in the development hopper because he can do so much. He’s versatile enough in Toronto FC’s system to perform numerous roles in the central midfield admirably, although he’s best holding up the architecture of the build as a prototypical defensive midfielder, which he did admirably for Canada’s U20 National Team at the CONCACAF U20 Championship. He’s been quality for Toronto FC II and has clearly grown in leaps and bounds since first splashing on the scene in 2015. Can he make a move to Greg Vanney’s 3-5-2 for the club’s Major League Soccer team in the future? Don’t bet against it.

I hope he continues to do well and maybe he'll make the jump.  As an aside, I wonder who's the writer for Top Drawer Soccer that did the scouting report?

Also, where is Chris Mannella playing these days?
