GasPed
I have no idea about his personal life or his extracurricular habits, but for a guy on the bubble, that performance is just not satisfactory. And I get that playing in phone booth doesn't exactly play to his strengths, but if you're only on for 20 minutes you have to play with energy and desire, and for crying out loud, you have to bury your chances. That was just... ...dire. DeRo_Is_King, costarg, Shway and 1 other 3

El Diego
His downfall after the ACL injury is quite sad. It's a bit embarrassing seeing him play out there, I don't think he's CPL level at this point.
dyslexic nam
I just get so frustrated because it all looks solvable if he just shed some pounds (pot, kettle) it would solve lots of the issues that are holding him back - speed, intensity, etc. The Beaver 2.0, Unnamed Trialist and Bison44 1
InglewoodJack
Curious how Herdman handles him. I can’t really think of a case where he cut the rope on a player who just didn’t have it. Granted hard to have a player this bad on your national team, but Herdman’s a loyal guy, so I wonder if he has it in him to get him loaned to the CPL or somewhere. I hope Kerr sticks around though. Not sure about this. Look at Herdman with Godinho and some others on the national team - Teibert, James, Okello etc. I think he’ll get a bit more leash than others due to the Canada past but it won’t last past the Copa America imo (if that). Bison44
I think this situation will work itself out. Kerr and the draft pick (Spicy!!) will prob assert themselves as healthy better options and we wont see Ayo much unless he gets his shit together.

Herdman also "chastised" Millar for not scoring vs Jamaica in Kingston. He can be petty enough to leave a player off for minor performance issues. Bigandy
Some players herdman has "cut off" to some degree Sturing corbeanu kaye Guti Waterman Arfield Tiebert ZBG Okello Cornelius - for a while at least James Heibert Brym Fraser akinola... sort of A lot of these guys were not really regulars for herdman but he gave them call ups and didnt blindly stick to them. I would argue that theres very very few examples of Herdman taking a player because of loyalty vs performance. (other than arfield who retired). Theres some cases of players called up who were bubble guys at the expense of others but nothing that is shocking. Yes some older guys stuck around or guys like brym or fraser get call ups but these are debatable at the very least. Nothing shocking on any team selections. Maybe choinieres exclusion during the gold cup? Edited March 20 by Bigandy sebdeserio and Corazon
Kent
In his last 3 regular seasons (including this one), 50 games played, 1914 minutes, 2 goals, 0 assists. I agree with Narduch. I'm not sure he is able to help a CPL team at this point. Good luck to him, I'd like to see him break out like MLS Is Back, but until he gives me a reason to think he can, I don't see it happening. InglewoodJack
CS St. Laurent already has their striker, but I wonder if another elite league1 team could use his services, even as an impact sub. Obinna
Obinna
I think the next step for Ayo should probably be Scandanavia or possibly one of the Baltic leagues. Tos moved from Toronto to the Lithuanian league and was pretty dominant domestically, even playing in some European games. Unlike Tos, Ayo has some question marks physically, but he's still young enough to make a go of it, but he must drop down several levels and build up his confidence, I think. My mind always goes to Scandanavia because unfortunately there isn't a solid option for players like Ayo on this side of the pond. He's tried elsewhere in MLS and it wasn't fruitful, and CPL is probably the right level talent-wise, but the pipeline out of CPL is very much in it's infancy at this stage. I think Norway could possibly give him the proper opportunity and salary, but the level may be a tad too high. Ditto for Sweden and definitely for Denmark. Finland (not technically scandanavia but I lump it in there) may actually be right talent-wise, but no idea if the salary would be sufficient, but if you are Ayo and you're going to drop down to the CPL, may as well use your resume to nab something in Finland, I think. I would avoid the Central American leagues all together, as sweltering conditions are not what he needs right how to shine, IMO.
