so would this be considered an Academy?

My first thought would be a “reserve team” type situation. Interesting if it was something along the lines of an academy though. Starting something at u12/14/16 would be really interesting though it would possibly irritate local clubs.

Ottawa soccer has been there before. Didn’t go well.

Something to keep an eye on:

That is lifted from El Confidencial, which used to be good, and now has really gone downhill, apart from pandering to political extremisms. It's only for subscribers on their site. All the reddit does is crib the first paragraph.

Anyways, Quantum, Israeli, already has a stake, has for the last 5 years. Unless they sold again and it's moved around.  At Madrid has debt along with on-field success, because they are trying to keep up with Real Madrid and Barça and it's not reasonable. And then they pay Simeone more than any other coach makes in the world, it's outrageous.

Wrong thread obviously but if having the team helped leverage a much bigger real estate deal at Woodbine for them dropping low seven digits per year on this team probably becomes less of an issue. The Baldassarras seemed to resurface again in York United coverage and as a kit sponsor after not rating a mention since 2019 around the time that stadium initiative started to be floated.

The North York Rockets outlived the CSL and even replaced the Blizzard in the APSL despite having almost no regular support so it's difficult to predict these things sometimes. Old Italian guys like Rocco LoFranco or Bruno Hartrell who really love soccer tend to be what keep low budget pro soccer teams going in the GTA even when it clearly isn't rational in business terms.
