  1. That was my first thought too, as I figured that kind of thing would have been talked about a lot more. Having said that, I have two small children and I work full time, so I really have no idea what anyone talks about in the real world anymore.
  2. I was chatting with someone at the match and they said as if it was common knowledge that Bob Young has been supporting Sigma (I assume financially, maybe some other ti-cat resources too?) for the past few years, and that Bobby S has been building for this season over that period. I didn’t have a chance to dig any deeper at the time, but has anyone else heard this?
  3. The match really did have a bit of everything. My ears are still ringing from the singing. I brought 4 extras to the game and a great time was has by all. I would have taken a 1-0 win before the match, but it really does feel like a lost opportunity with so many big scoring chances not going in. No matter what happens in the second leg, this league has been brilliant. It has been a great year of soccer for Canadians on the field and in the stands.
  4. I’ve been pleased with Larin. He has been a good focal point for the other attackers. He has shown well, and lay it off quickly and effectively for others. *aside from that terrible ball for Millar. Shame as it would have been great for both of those boys for that goal to have happened
  5. Here are the highlights from Gent’s Twitter. David appears to be growing into a top player going from strength to strength. Very impressive for such a young man. Here’s hoping he can keep it up for both club and country!
  6. I too have been really impressed by Borges’ whole game. The on-the-ball offensive side has been evident for much of the season, but his work rate off the ball, particularly defensively, has been a pleasant surprise. It was really evident during the home leg vs Antigua, and as you’ve said, continued in the away leg.
  7. Not at all, but the bullet point above it is! There was a game where the two goalkeepers were ejected for violent conduct, and as both teams had used all 3 substitutions, both teams needed an outfield player to finish the game in goal. Now that’s pretty awesome.
  8. What I saw wasn’t pretty, but getting the job done in Central America is satisfying. As fans of Canadian soccer, we don’t get to say that very often.
  9. Keep the updates coming, please! I’m following along by watching a running clock with the occasional substitution shown, but no commentary.
  10. It was a convincing 4-0 victory for Canada against Guadeloupe in Group C, while visiting Slovenia squeaked out a 1-0 win over El Salvador. https://www.concacaf.com/en/under-15s-men/article/mexico-british-virgin-islands-among-big-winners-on-day-4-at-cbu15-championship
  11. Here are the goals https://www.concacaf.com/en/under-15s-men/video/cu15-2019-canada-v-el-salvador
  12. No worries. Maybe our paths will cross in the real world one day.
  13. I disagree as Welshman looked one of the most dangerous attackers for Forge vs Antigua, and since moving to a more outside attacker, has seemed a reap threat to every back line we’ve played against. Antigua’s left back will be happy to hear Welshman is gone. I’m less so as a Forge fan, but I am happy for him and what it could mean for him personally and professionally.
  14. Not me Beachesl, as I’ve never even been to Saskatchewan. I’d be happy to meet up for a drink though if you’re ever at a Forge game, or coming to a Nations League match at BMO!
  15. Müller, who lined up on the Bayern right in the second half at the Allianz Arena, says he would welcome the Canadian's inclusion in the side once more in Dortmund. Alphonso Davies," the Bayern man replied when quizzed on his side's Supercup alternatives on the flanks to Gnabry and Coman. "The way he hit that ball with his right foot wasn't half bad." As well as sweeping in a quite brilliant solo goal with his weaker right foot, Davies also had the most touches of any Bayern player (97), came out on top in 77 per cent of his attempted one-on-ones and hit the mark with almost 80 per cent of his attempted passes in a performance that didn't go unnoticed by Kovac. https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/alphonso-davies-praise-for-bayern-munich-canada-teenager-thomas-muller-kovac-5949
  16. Great night of footy tonight. Decent crowd, and good result. Really enjoyed the match, but hard not to when you hit an injury time winner! You can see Forge is still a work in progress in some of the finer movements and team shape sometimes (particularly defensively), but it is fun to watch. Here’s hoping we can win the tie down in Antigua, and get another champions league qualifier at home.
  17. Haha it was actually surprisingly hard to write! Were going to .... ok, I’ll stop. 😜
  18. They’re point their was there frustrated at the misuse of language.
  19. Great goal by Thomas, and another good win for Forge. The 3-1 score line was a pretty fair reflection of the play I think. I brought my buddy who is a TFC season ticket holder and he had a great experience despite the weather. He messaged me this morning to see about coming back for another match.
  20. Look at you lot setting records. Congrats! 😉
  21. He looks like he’s a big lad with decent pace. He also appears to be tough for an attacker to beat in the air and on the dribble. Hopefully Scott continues to learn and grow as a player. Best of luck to him for the upcoming season!
  22. I assume it would only be Davies’ choice because he was at the Gold Cup and would likely be given a few weeks extra break. He has probably chosen to return early to get a full preseason, and maybe utilize the fact he is likely in better game shape than the teammates who haven’t had any competitive action since the end of Germany’s domestic season. Hopefully he comes out firing and impresses, and gets more first team playing time as a result.
