He's a really interesting player," said Cavallini. "You don't really get players like that in Canada -- really technical. I guess his grassroots being Colombian really help." Osorio was born in Toronto. Like his parents being Columbia. Is the reason why he plays technical? Yes. Football is cultural. Cavallini and Osorio's South American backgrounds have clearly and obviously shaped their games, and for that I am thankful. If not for their roots, they would not have had the passion, style or ability to make it to Nacional's academy in Uruguay. They are both the type of players we need to win in Concacaf, and they should form the spine of this team. masster
Scorpion26
Larin story... Piette on being a leader Osorio on CMNT aiming to dominate NL Cav coming to TFC in future These articles are from MLSsoccer.com good reads before game From Canpl.ca : Hutch speaking on retiring from international game after GC19 From Canada Soccer: CMNT ready for game I'm excited for the game tonight and hope their is a link or something for me to watch in the USA. If anyone got something please let me know. Seems like the teams are coming together well and seems that our team will build up a very good chemistry, but I am wondering why haven't players like C. Gutierrez, Godinho, or Cordova been called up yet? Would like to see true OB playing on the defense. Want to see Davies and Millar up top with Millar off bench most likely. Do Europeans have the passion, style or ability to make it to Nacional’s academy? Do people with Trinidadian roots like Atiba Hutchinson have those assets in ample supply to make it on their academy? How about an African like Drogba or a Mexican like Chicharito or an Asian like Kagawa? Were Australia’s best players (Viduka, Kewell, Cahill) not good enough to make it onto a youth team for Nacional? I feel like a lot of those players are or were better than Osorio and Cavallini (and I love Oso and Cav). I am pretty sure those players were probably good enough, they just weren’t South American enough and had other more local options. It might be more of a message to FIFA. Since FIFA hasn't confirmed that VAR being at the next WWC.

He didn't do well at an upper-half-league team, but did well at relegation-bound Strommen, helping them to avoid relegation. I guess that's his ceiling, lower level D2 Norway. Not exactly the level one should look for in a MNT (although it must be said, still better to play at a lower level than not to play, as Leutwiler for example). Scorpion26
FiFa Ranking Well Canada has moved up 3 spots and are 76 in ranking. I'm surprised they've moved up since playing very weak oppositions so far. Anyways to be positive let us hope this upward trend continues and Canada can get into top 50 in two years and if lucky by end of 2019.

Blackjack15
On top of these 23 players called up for this National league Qualifier vs St Kitts and Nevis I want to add that: I don’t see Edgar, Cornelius, ZBG or Fraser part of the imminent future given their lack of playing time at their clubs. Edgar - 31yo, nearly 32 (not likely to make it to Qatar 2022. His time with the NT May be coming to an end leading to the Gold Cup, played 10 games total in USL (NSH & OTT). If we weren’t so thin at CB he wouldn’t even be part of the conversation. Straith is actually playing regularly in 3.Liga captaining his side Sportfreunde Lotto And has the slightly more Caps than him and is 3 years younger and in form Cornelius - Not playing at all for Javor Ivanjica in the Serb 2nd tier, time to call it quits and move on. Same point as Edgar, not sure why he’s still being called up. Saying no for now, but not forever ZBG - Very young at 19 and talented player. Graduated from Olympique Lyon’s Academy to the reserve side. I think if he’s gonna be considered in the RB position he will need to move to a better league and have a breakthrough there to be in the picture. One to watch! Fraser - 21 year old CDM, someone who I would put in the 40 man Provisional roster, squad player for Toronto FC (Rotational) occasionally playing when called upon. Eligible for the Olympic U23 Qualifer next year in 2019. Deserves to be in the picture but in the last few places for Today. He will continue to develop but right now Jay chapman is beating him out in the argument Besides the 20 others: I think the following 13 deserve recalls / be involved in this process GK - Jayson Leutwiler LB - Ashtone Morgan LB - Brett Levis CB - Adam Straith RB - Michael Petrasso RB - Juan Cordova MF - Scott Arfield MF - Jonathan Osorio MF - Mark Anthony Kaye MF - Tesho Akindele MF - Raheem Edwards ST - Tosaint Ricketts ST - AJH Edited April 26, 2019 by Blackjack15
Vince193
The issue with Fraser, and this is only going to get worse as Daniels and Okello develop is that they have way too many midfielders at TFC. At some point guys have to move on, and most likely it will be the likes of Daniels who need to find a new team because of that clogged midfield. HochelagaFC
Petrasso shouldn’t be the starter at right back, he was really poor for the Impact this year. I may be wrong but I think he didn’t play a single minute on loan with the Fury. Right now I think it’s better to try some younger players (Brault-Guillard and Godhino) with more upside at the position. In my opinion they are already better anyway. Scorpion26
CMNT DNA as Humble.... More from Herdman. Anyways to comment on the USA game yea they got beat and Pulisic was pissed. I am surprised the USA team did not hire Martino felt like he was being primed for the role. However it seems G.Berhalter will be the man to take the rein of USA per rumors. CMNT got Herdman and hopefully he will help CMNT rise up the ConCaCaf as some of you pointed out Costa Rice going down a bit, USA not being the force it once was, and Mexico will always be around for sure. This is the time for CMNT to rise and place itselt in the top 3 power of ConCaCaf. Excited for tomorrow and hoping to see fullbacks playing not Davies or Millar at fullback positions. He got to bring in all players for each position to build that chemistry and letting them play their position. Don't be like Klinsmann... Herdman.
