It's the whole team vs just the Cdn content that's playing poor. Choinoire scored a goal in Montreal's 2-0 victory meanwhile Laryea got his 2nd goal of the season and Osorio provided 2 assists in Toronto's 4-2 loss. Lastly, Priso provided an assist on Colorado's late equalizer. Choiniere had a goal and assist while Laryea added another assist. Shaffelburg scored his 3rd of the season last week. Sirois had a couple shutout victories while St Clair had a shutout in a nil-nil draw as well. Meanwhile Toronto FC lost two as well with a tie in between. Unfortunately, not a lot of stats by Canadians over the past 3 games but MacNaughton did score his 1st goal of the season and first of his Nashville career. Waterman scored his 1st of the season as well. Russell-Rowe added his 2nd goal of the season to go with his 2 assists. Cambridge was the breakout star with a 2 goal performance last weekend. Mo Farsi also added his 3rd assist of the season. Sirois had a shutout vs Toronto while St Clair has had back to back shutouts himself as well. Although stats were a little low for 3 games, Canadian debuts were not. Themi Antonoglu made his season debut and has played in 3 straight games for Toronto. Karifa Yao made his season debut for Vancouver as well. Moise Bombito, Jordan Faria, Antony Curic, Stephen Afrifa & O'Vonte Mullings all made their MLS debuts in the past couple of weeks. During that time, CF Montreal has gone 2 Wins 1 Draw & 3 Losses. Vancouver has gone 2 Wins 1 Draw & 2 Losses. Toronto FC have gone 0 Wins, 2 Draws & 5 Losses. Over the past 5 weeks, we have seen Scott Arfield joining Charlotte FC and receive his MLS debut. In addition to Arfield, both Greg Ranjitsingh and Cristian Gutierrez finally saw the field for Toronto FC. In addition, Toronto also handed debuts to the 16 and 17 year old Center Backs Lazar Stefanovic and Adam Pearlman. Over these past 5 weeks, we have seen Raheem Edwards earn his both his 1st goal and 1st assist of the season. We also saw Deandre Kerr get his 3rd goal of the season. ZBG earned his 1st goal of the season. Mo Farsi picked up his 4th assist. Richie Laryea got his 3rd assist of the season. Mathieu Choiniere got his 3rd assist of the season. Kyle Hiebert picked up his first assist on the season. Cristian Gutierrez picked up his 1st assist of the season. Joel Waterman picked up his 1st assist of the season as well. Lastly McGraw is a new addition to the list and currently has one goal this season to date. As for the goalies, Sirois earned 3 shutouts in his 5 MLS games played over that period. In the two games, he didn't earn a shutout, the team lost both by a score line of 1-0. To Date, Canadians have scored 26 goals and contributed 25 assists. Unfortunately both are behind pace on our 60 goals and 65 assists contributed last season but this is a Gold Cup year that saw many key statistical players miss extended periods of time, not to mention a few key players missing lengthy periods of time due to injury. Canadian's saw approximately 52,749 minutes last season in the MLS. To date, we're on a similar pace at 30,453 minutes. Vancouver continues to perform well while Montreal has had mixed results but remain right in the playoff hunt. Toronto finally won a game but I suppose the biggest news there is the appointment of John Herdman. Some of the Canadian standouts recently: In Montreal, Saliba seems to have locked down a starting role even with the return of Piette. Vilsaint has shown some glimpses great promise and Choiniere continues to dominate. In Toronto, Osorio seems to have found his footing a little bit more for a struggling TFC side. In limited minutes, he is tied with Choiniere for most G+A for Canadians this season. In Vancouver, Laryea has picked up right where he left off for Toronto FC. On US MLS teams, Since returning to play, St Clair has seemed to have stepped it up in net for Minnesota. Arfield is playing well for Charlotte and Kaye seems to be a little more rejuvenated in New England. Russell-Rowe has produced for Columbus in limited minutes. In Miami, Kamal Miller has had an impressive run with his new teammates. Both Shaffelburg & MacNaughton continue to impress in Nashville. In fact, it seems his stats are superior in all categories except games played (JRR leads by 1). Minutes, duals won, even goals, Kerr is statistically having a better season. However, Toronto is having a shit season, unlike the Crew, so that's one thing. Another thing is that he plays for a US team, which seems to help his perception. I mean JRR having 2 more goal contributions in almost half the minutes played would point to him having a much better season. Kerr's having a great season and as a TFC fan I'm pleasantly surprised but I don't see his ceiling being higher than an MLS starter unless he figures out how to control the ball better. It's important to remember the 2020 MLS season was shortened and that we also tend to miss out on some of these statistics in Gold Cup years where key players are away for a few weeks. Players to play in at least 1 minute of MLS Action by Season 2019 - We had 32 Canadian's play this season. 30 outfield & 2 goalies. 2020 - We had 41 Canadian's play this season. 36 outfield & 5 goalies. 2021 - We had 45 Canadian's play this season. 40 outfield & 5 goalies. 2022 - We had 51 Canadian's play this season. 44 outfield & 7 goalies. 2023 - So far we have had 54 Canadian's play this season. 49 outfield & 5 goalies. Total Minutes for Canadian's in MLS by Season 2019 - 31,309 minutes & 28,789 minutes not including Goalkeeper minutes. 2020 - 26,227 minutes & 23,437 minutes not including Goalkeeper minutes. 2021 - 45,404 minutes & 39,644 minutes not including Goalkeeper minutes. 2022 - 52,749 minutes & 42,059 minutes not including Goalkeeper minutes. 2023 - So far, 39,657 minutes & 34,797 minutes not including Goalkeeper minutes. Looking at the file Johnston had over 2,600 minutes and contributed 4 goals and 5 assists Teibert had over 2,000 minutes and an assist last season Nelson had over 1,900 minutes and a goal and 2 assists Kone had almost 1,500 minutes and 2 goals and 5 assists Cavallini had over 1,500 minutes and 9 goals and 2 assists Tesho had 3 goals in about 600 minutes Ricketts had 4 goals and an assist in about 500 minutes Sirois has essentially taken Pantemis & Breza's minutes from last season but Crepeau had nearly 3,000 minutes last season and Hasal about 1,500 minutes, while they only have a combined 90 this season. Those were some of the big losses from last year to this. Many of the newer players we are seeing are younger and not nearly as finished products as some of those veterans listed above.
