Olympique_de_Marseille
Italy U-21 are playing friendlies against Poland (away) and Spain (home) this month to prep them for June's tournament. Cristante has NOT been called to the squad. http://www.figc.it/it/204/2536716/2017/03/News.shtml
Big_M
He should be finished with Italy unless there are injuries. Wasn't a sure starter in the bottom team and now is barely playing in a strong team.
Floortom
Likely isn't good enough to be captied for Italy. I doubt he considers playing for us until he's in his late 20s though

Big_M
Players have to be U21's when the qualifiers begin so players born in 94 or after can play.

masster
Cristante got the start as Franck Kessie was suspended. He played the full match. The goal was a header off a free kick. These are important matches for Atalanta as they are surprisingly trying to hold on to a European spot. Every time I watch him play I want to see him be more influential in the run of play, but he just is not.

This was his first full game for Atalanta. His goals/minutes-played ratio is pretty good so far for a midfielder!
Chad_Impact
Cristante started against Juventus today. He would be a great steal if we can convince him to come to the Gold Cup.

However, once it's 2026 is officially presented in North America, it might convince him to commit. So, he won't be in the Gold Cup but the 2022 WCQ for Qatar seems more realistic

Once again, this is not his immediate goal! as he has said in interviews, it's to make the Italy U-21 squad in June. He played in the friendlies in the fall with their U21s but did not get the call for the friendlies at the end of March. UEFA U21s start June 16th. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_UEFA_European_Under-21_Championship Per the rules, coach Luigi Di Biagio http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luigi_Di_Biagio has to submit his squad 10 days before: http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/uefaorg/Regulations/02/20/49/90/2204990_DOWNLOAD.pdf That means June 6th. 1 hour ago, Chad_Impact said: He would be a great steal if we can convince him to come to the Gold Cup. 1 hour ago, matty said: Would love to see him come to the Gold Cup but I doubt he's ready to commit yet. Therefore from now until June 6th there is no reason for him to file his one-time switch. FIFA is so slow, that even if he put the paperwork in now, they still may not process it in time for the Gold Cup. Last day of Serie A is May 28th, 4 more games to try and convince Di Biagio he should get a spot on the 23 man squad.
