farrelld
Random question... Does anyone know if he speaks English? It might be hard for him to integrate into our team if he can't communicate with the majority of players. It could also be a reason he is reluctant to make the switch. Obinna
I guess 7 million a season will help you integrate rather quickly

Being skilled and putting the ball in the net needs less communicating than linking the offence and the defence together. Olympique_de_Marseille
Cristante played a full game as Pescara lost to Inter Milan today after leading. Inter made a triple sub in roughly the 75th minute, and clearly changed things around enough for Mauro Icardi to score twice. Tough loss for Cristante and co. by 1-2. After playing 3 full games in Serie A in a row (plus a game in Coppa Italia vs Serie B side Frosinone) he's already played over 3 times the minutes he got at Palermo (over the course of half a season). Has he found his groove? I would not be surprised if he got a call to the last game of U-21 qualifiers for Italy; Italy would need to lose their last game to Lithuania AND Serbia would have to win both of their last two games for Italy to avoid automatic qualification. Lithuania has nothing to play for and Italy haven't lost yet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_UEFA_European_Under-21_Championship_qualification_Group_2 EDIT: I wonder how well he partners in midfield with Valerio Verre who is an established player for Pescara (played for them in Serie B as they got promoted) and for the Italy U-21s. Verre has also started all 4 games Pescara's played so far. EDIT 2 : First half: "Bryan Cristante really should’ve scored moments later, but his volley at the back post flashed all the way across the face of goal from close range. He probably had time to control Valerio Verre’s cross." Seems like he fouled a lot during the game. http://www.marca.com/eventos/marcador/futbol/2016_17/calcio/jornada_3/pes_int/

Big_M
Midfielder in a 4-3-3. Nothing spectacular but solid on both sides of the ball and gets the job done.

masster
Cristante played the full 90 in Pescara's 1-1 home draw against Sampdoria on the weekend. Pescara went down to 10 men at the end of the first half. I watched the whole game. His performance was the same as what I posted back in August. Still only 21, but given his current form and his skill set, I just don't see him ever breaking in to the Azzurri team. Pescara still have not won a league match on the field after 8 games, but find themselves in 16th place in the table with 7 points after they were awarded a 3-0 win earlier in the season after Sassuolo fielded an ineligible player. masster
Crazy and unfortunate scenes in Italy today. An aftershock after an earthquake earlier in the day occurred during the Pescara - Atalanta match. The game was halted for a few minutes but then resumed. According to this article, there was a surreal atmosphere and the focus of most people was on everything except the game.http://www.gazzetta.it/Calcio/Serie-A/Atalanta/26-10-2016/pescara-atalanta-0-1-segno-caldara-terremoto-ferma-gara-4-170612689230.shtml Cristante did not start the match. He entered the game in the 58th, Atalanta scored in the 60th, and Pescara lost 1-0. Earlier this week (Sunday) Cristante started and was subbed out in the 74th minute of Pescara's 3-1 loss at Udinese. After 10 matches, Pescara sits in 17 place with only 7 points. masster
Not sure how I feel about the decision to continue with the game.http://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/horncastle-serie-a-week-10-review-dzeko-icardi-and-immobile-keep-29688 The first earthquake hit, rippling out from its epicentre in Maceratese, at 7:11pm. Fans were just taking their seats in grounds up and down Italy. Touchline reporters prepared their pieces to camera. The latest team news was suddenly no longer the headline. These were extraordinary circumstances as Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, Florence’s Artemio Franchi and Pescara’s Adriatico all shook. The richter scale sketched out a reading of 5.4. Half an hour into Pescara’s game with Atalanta another tremor spread panic. Fearing the worst, some fans upped and left. Aware of the commotion, referee Marco Guida halted the game for three and a half minutes. Cracks even began to appear in the walls. Worried for the safety of everybody involved the ultras protested the decision to restart the game by abandoning the upper tier of the Curva Nord in the second half. Marco Verratti, the former Pescara midfielder, who was forced to sleep in the family car in the days immediately after a quake devastated Aquila and the surrounding region in 2009 posted a picture on Instagram of some of the damage. “There are no words,” he wrote. But even as another earthquake of even greater magnitude, this one measuring 5.9, struck at 9:18pm, it was on with the show in Serie A.
masster
Looks like Cristante may have lost his starting place as he is a substitute for the second game in a row. Comes off the bench in the 56' in a 1-0 loss to Milan at the San Siro.

Olympique_de_Marseille
Italy have already qualified for the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_UEFA_European_Under-21_Championship in June. They have two friendlies this month against England and Denmark. Great time to test new players or players that they hadn't seen in some time. Unfortunately for him, Bryan Cristante was NOT called into the camp. http://www.figc.it/it/204/2534806/2016/11/News.shtml On 11/2/2016 at 3:26 PM, matty said: Here's a Bleacher Report article on Cristante http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2673056-2-years-on-its-clear-ac-milans-decision-to-sell-bryan-cristante-was-correct I find that this article was rather well written and put into context the hype surounding him two years ago. Bertuzzi44
He's currently getting regular Serie A minutes, and he's only 21. He could definitely develop into a Serie A regular, which would make him one of our top 2 or 3 players regarding level of play....

nolando
I've steered clear of this and the Ferreira threads because (despite being a hardcore MNT fan for most of my life) a man can only have his hopes crushed oh so many times. But this story is really fascinating, high stakes drama, and I see this fellow as having ambition (and potential) more like young Vittoria than Arfield. I strongly suspect he would stay away from Canada's mess until the mood struck him in his late 20's, if at all.
