    • These posts give me pause.  Where is Gerry Dobson, we could sure use him.
    • Cup games are always nervous-making, especially the single knock out rounds.  It is also what makes them so much fun. The squad rotation thing for games among teams from different leagues is always an interesting question for this tournament.  The gap between the CPL and L1 (or MLS and the CPL) is large but not overwhelmingly so.  Meaning the higher team does have room to rotate but can't just go in for a wholesale B lineup. It's a lot of fun to watch.  And, when it's not your team, to cheer for the underdogs.
    • I find she's as bad and as unlikable as the rest of them.  I don't think anyone has to white knight her, she's more than capable of standing up for herself.  She dropped an F bomb the other day which was kind of a last straw for me.  Really that's unacceptable in any environment that deals with the public.  I admit I'm old school, in my day it wasn't acceptable on the air or dealing with a customer.  I understand times change, but it doesn't mean we have to like or accept it.
    • NO. There are several factors that have contributed to his performance level this year, most off which have been stated in various posts. In my opinion the #1 issue: his attributes and strengths that made him a star under Flick & Nagelsmann, don't suit how TT wants Bayern to play. #2 Bayern have not been able to replace the quality CBs they had with Alaba & Boateng, both seasoned vets. There's been a lot of turnover at that position over the past 3 yrs and it hasn't helped  Davies or Bayern defensively. Finally TT looks like a very volatile mgr and I cant think that's conducive to any of the young players at Bayern.
    • That's the sign of an important Cup. And as a Whitecaps who's watched them repeatedly blow it in almost unimaginative ways, let me tell you it doesn't get any easier. 😉
    • I'm convinced York's problems are due to the stadium and its location and nothing really else. Put them in a better, more suitable stadium in a better, more suitable part of town and they'll draw what they draw. You speak about second tier sports teams in the city but I was actually at the Marlies game on Friday night - crowd of 6,596 at Exhibition! - and I understand that it's hockey but it's still second-tier. Hockey fails in the suburbs but it survives via the Marlies downtown. There's a lesson here for CPL brass (IE, move the team to Brockton/Birchmount/Monarch Park/literally anywhere more urban than a suburban university campus. For a league whose teams require community to be successful there is no community to be found at a university campus) We'll see how The Borough fare this season, because that will be a slightly good measuring stick of what a motivated footy team can do in a somewhat better urban location.
    • My honest expectation is that York will eventually be moved to a more suitable location outside Toronto (unless the owners are simply content to absorb losses for their own reasons of ownership pride or tax write offs). What I'd like to see is the team humming along with a tidy five or six thousand fans per game. Unfortunately, while I can think of possible actions that could incrementally improve attendance, the biggest one is "don't be in a city that is a death ground for second tier sports teams".
    • I think he's filling the void of Galindo nicely. No, he's not Galindo, but I think he's doing very good work. I appreciate him. I know what you mean, but I think it's fine. I don't expect analysis from Ben and I don't feel like he's aiming to give that to us, so it's fine by me. Happy he is part of the show.  Dunlop (Dunlap?) ....I like the personality too and the digs at Ben and sometimes AGR. He's good for the dynamics of the show. Sounds like he's an older millenial and the other two seem to be Gen Z, so I think he brings a little balance.   Again, this is what's missing for me. It doesn't even need to be stats heavy, I just want CanMNT content and I want NFP to be a CanMNT podcast first and foremost. It's turning into a Canada Soccer podcast, where one week might be CanWNT focused, the next week might be CPL heavy, the following week might be dominated by the changes happening at the CSA.... I just want CanMNT content to be honest, and if there is a CPL final, or MLS final, or even big game for the women, yes it can take up a major portion of the show (but not 95% of the show), but I feel in general it's moved away from the CanMNT too much and I now have to pick and choose which eppisodes to watch......anyone else?
