  • Cities confirmed for Canadian 2026 bid

We now know the six Canadian stadiums and cities that are biding to host games in the 2026 World Cup.

    They are:

    Toronto’s BMO Field

    Montreal’s Olympic Stadium

    Vancouver’s BC Place

    Edmonton’s Olympic Stadium

    Regina’s Mosaic Stadium

    Ottawa’s TD Place

There’s a not a lot of surprise on the list. Calgary declined to pursue the bid further, which may be bad news for their Canadian Premier League bid (as getting a stadium built is key to it and failing to bid now suggests that they are not yet sure if it’s going to happen).

With Canada set to get six games in total there is a certain logic to suggest that each city is likely to get a single game. Although the caveat to that is that Olympic Stadium will need serious work to be World Cup ready.

Another issue is that only one stadium – It’s almost certain that all of the five stadiums will need to put in temporary grass.

Of course none of this will matter if Morocco wins the bid.

    • I've speculated here too but sometimes it's better to move on and you get nothing from explaining why.
    • Lot of thanks for will give always latest news for Canadian soccer league.
    • That's only an issue if they ever meet! 😂
    • I hope they are not continuing the Canucks (and certainly, other pro teams) tradition of teammates banging their goalies wives:  Jeff Brown-Kirk McLean, Ryan Kesler-Corey Schneider. Back to the transaction:  Crepeau will be a big X factor for LAFC.
    • For real though... how can you not be happy for this guy... I love his character, tenacious on and off the field. After what could have been a career altering (for the worse) injury, this guy just said, hell no, got up, dusted off, and kept going. He's the definition of hard work and resiliency (of course, being extremely talented also helped).
    • and so could Eustaquio... if he kills it with Porto then he's moving up to a top 5 league 100%, that pathway has already been well stablish. Porto knows good business and they know they could make a hefty profit on a guy like Eustaquio if a top 5 league team comes after him, given how cheaply they are getting him. He's only 25.
    • I believe that as a citizen, once you make it to the border (by w.e. means), they can't deny you entry into the country.. that being said, it doesn't mean they are forced to let you wander around once you're in, they can still deny you "immediate entrance" if that makes sense.
    • aside from the delusional supporters, they seem pretty pessimistic of their players and their coach (the current friendly they lost against Colombia I believe did not help), and are just hoping they can at least finish this octagonal ranked higher than 8th
    • Well, sure, if you have wives and girlfriends, that’s probably going to be an issue.
    • Fuck it, I'm pumped for this game. I trust in Herdman, he got us to beat the Americans and Mexico in a competitive game since who the fuck knows how long. He has us on the verge of qualifying to a World Cup, and I have absolute faith that with him we will finally overcome that obstacle that has always been facing Honduras, a team I both despise and respect. Lets make right what happened a decade ago, and fuck, I hope Estadio Olimpico is paccccked, because listening to 40000 Hondurans boo their players off the field after the ass whooping we're about to give them will be music to my ears. I trust our coach, our coaching staff, and most importantly, our players, and I know they are pumped and ready to embrace the chaos that awaits them. We are playing for qualify to a damn World Cup. LFG
