Umm didnt Larin make his big move when he was best player in NCAA, drafted #1, won rookie of the year in MLS, 17 goals... at age 20???

He scored more professional goals by 21 than Brym has managed his whole career... gotta let Brym get minutes in and see how he does over the season.

Buddy, we all know where Brym ends up once Herdman is announced for TFC........

It's his only condition before signing, once that's cleared the pieces all fall into place.  Fraser is coming home too.  No one from CFM ever gets called up to CANMNT ever again.

Shaffelburg back to TFC for intra-MLS tranfer record fee of $20M too. Brym gets the C. Him and Losada probably coming to blows during the first derby too. Absolute movie.

He is on the bench so he has to be healthy enough to be called on if needed.  Odd decision.

He started last week because the expensive #1 striker was injured. A guy like that doesn't lose his starting job after 1 match. We'd be annoyed if David or someone got benched because his backup had one good game.

Doesn’t start today after a brace last game.

This is blasphemy! This is madness!

Obviously very early days but Sparta Rotterdam is currently sitting top of the table - albeit with a game in hand over lots.  Still, leading 3-0 away against another team near the top is a pretty encouraging start to the season.   Would be nice if Brym managed to hop on board a team that will compete in the league this year.

Really disappointing he didn't get the start.  It's gotta be punch in the gut for him after he played last week.  A start was really deserved after the work and performance he put in last week.  It was really a chance for him to build some momentum and confidence. I'm pissed.

Maybe the coaching staff think it's what best for him? A lot of players would ride the momentum of a 2 goal performance, and maybe that's Brym, but maybe Brym is the type who needs the sit down for some perspective?

Just trying to look on the bright side.

I appreciate that perspective, but if we were considering exclusively what's best for Brym it would have been for his coach to reward his work and grant him confidence and play him. His confidence and dedication can take a hit from this. Like, he will likely be thinking, "what the heck do I gotta do to be rewarded a start and gain the confidence of my coach"? Hopefully he just keeps his nose to the  grindstone and maintains or improves his form.

Sparta have had a solid start to the season. A draw here will be 5 games without a loss, no?

Haven't seen the table but I assume they will be top 5 if the score holds.

Top of the table but they have played 4 games, where other teams have played 2.

Didn't have any real chances in his 30'. Was hoping he'd take the pk but Sparta have a pk guy. His pk was fantastic. Sparta is a fun team to watch and obviously Brym is getting a real chance to show he belongs

  • 4 weeks later...

Watched 2nd half. Brym played just behind the main striker Lauritsen (who he has been replacing late in games). Played pretty much the whole game, came off in injury time.

His one on one ball control is so good. Two times, he was one on one (out wide, near the corner flag) with the defender. The defender had him cornered off. He used his one on one ball skills to create enough space to get a decent cross into the box. His footwork is great.

Hopefully he gets the start next game and he is a starter from here on. Looks like he replaced Saito (who fotmob has injured until mid October). The late loss hurts though
