Hilaire’s chance may come sooner than expected, Jozy is no longer with the first team.

Interesting news about Jozy but I doubt this give Hugo much of a chance.  With Ayo and Mullins ahead of him I am not sure this will translate into field time.

  • RS changed the title to Hugo-Hilaire Mbongue

Thread name should be updated. Hilaire is part of his first name not his last name. Hyphen is between Hugo and Hilaire "Hugo-Hilaire Mbongue" not "Hugo Hilaire-Mbongue"

So where does the Priso fit into his name? His brother is Ralph.

Ralph's full name is Ralph Priso-Mbongue. They both have Mbongue.

From https://www.canadasoccer.com/profile/?id=5974 , mom's last name is Priso, dad's is Mbongue. Looks like one got hyphenated, the other didn't.

I don't think they're half brothers. If I google "priso mbongue half-brothers" this web result shows up which shows "half-brothers", but if you click on the link https://www.torontofc.ca/news/reds-final-tuneup-ends-in-draw-against-sporting-kc That line was updated to read "Mbongue, currently on the books at TFC II, is the younger brother of first team midfielder Ralph Priso."

Ralph's Canada soccer profile shows parents with both names (mom is Priso, Dad is Mbongue) and this link https://franchementfamille.ca/articles-franchementfamille/?tx_news_pi1[news]=1928&tx_news_pi1[controller]=News&tx_news_pi1[action]=detail&cHash=1cdd20780c4aaa5abe1dcc12db117194 shows both of them pictured with their mom. Since the mother is the Priso, they'd have to have different mothers to be half-brothers. I think they just got different last names for whatever reason.

That's where I last saw it referenced that they were half-brothers. TFC correcting their own story leads me to believe your interpretation.

Probably better to not go into hypotheticals and sleuthing on something like this.  Let’s let the kids tell their own story and we can focus on the talent they bring.

Especially when the sleuthing is horribly wrong. I would delete it if I wasn't quoted.
I digress.

Was up ay York University this afternoon for TFC II's home opener. What a great day for Hugo for TFC II with the brace and a lot of great chances in today's victory over NYCFC II, this kid's future is bright.

Did you wear sunglasses?
