red card
About 14-15 of the 34 CFM matches will be on RDS next year. Appletv will show all the matches. Duration of deal & dollars not known. RDS will also show certain other matches like ASG, MLS Cup and a game of the week. TSN will also continue to be a broadcaster but no details provided. Yes, not surprising. I find most people don't know what the AppleTV deal actually entails. Cable broadcasters can still jump on and get the rights to some or all the games if they choose. They just have to realize that everything will also be broadcast on the aforementioned streaming service, not unlike the NFL in Canada with DAZN and CTV/TSN. red card
GGG says MLS areas of improvement needed are pressure on the ball to reduce time on the ball, more compact formations & less wide open matches. Weather, travel and having playoffs are hurdles.
red card
MLS released its YTD top 25 selling jerseys sold on MLSstore.com. No Canadians in top 25 but Canadians are likely buying off mlsstore.ca if online. But one TFC player is at #23 - Insigne. Bale is the top seller. Sounders lead as a team with 4 players in the top 25. Americans have 5 players in the top 25, followed by Argentina. 15 teams are repped in the top 25 but something is amiss when the best team in the league Union have no players in the top 25. https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/lafc-s-gareth-bale-tops-list-as-mls-unveils-top-selling-player-jerseys-of-2022-s narduch

I dont know how credible this source is but he really backs up his arguments very well and give very good believable examples. In essence, the problem with these kind of practices is that these guys end up working and being accountable to their sources rather than the readers and the audience. MauditYvon
Bad for East teams tho. Conferences unbalanced, I guess 7 teams from each will make the playoffs. A bit easier in the West. Edited September 27, 2022 by MauditYvon
red card
Another take on MLS team valuations - this time by Sportico. Besides the MLS team, value includes 3.4% interest/team in SUM, any real estate, NWSL & MLSNP holdings. They applied a revenue muliplier for each team that was on average 10.2x. MLS multiple applied is usually 2x higher than the big 4 North American pro leagues based on the assumption that MLS will experience higher growth. TFC is ranked 5th at US$705 million based on projected 2022 revenue of US$64 million. Caps are 26th at US$415 million based on projected 2022 revenue of US$35 million. Montreal is last at US$390 million based on projected 2022 revenue of US$29 million. Average MLS valuation is US$582 million. LAFC is highest at US$900 million. https://www.sportico.com/feature/mls-soccer-team-value-ranking-1234689586/ Edited September 28, 2022 by red card narduch and Ivan 1
Kingston
^ I find it odd that Montreal is consistently given such a low value in these rankings compared to the rest of the league. With the size of their market and lack of summer sports competition, they should be able to do much better.

Big_M
it wouldnt have changed the late game collapse like theyve done all season...the great bezbatchenko now has one mls cup with columbus but also missed playoffs in three of the last four years...arena savarese schmetzer vermes also missed playoffs...fans have to realize how difficult this league is and be more patient instead of calling for the removal of a coach after a rebuild season
