Guest
I don't understand why they make these friendlies. Our first team is never going to have good chemistry for the games that really matter if they keep calling the B/C team to each friendly

I know this is just a friendly but the American MLS players be leaving for the USMNT, why not the Canadians? I imagine part of it is that the US players won't be flying to Europe and back during the international break & plus they are playing much more important matches than we are so were always going to take the best players they had (given the hole the US is in right now, these next two games are the most crucial games the US will be have played for some time). I am also guessing the CSA probably didn't want to annoy the clubs too much by asking for players to fly from NA to Europe and back if it was likely or probable that these players would be used by their teams for club matches upon their return, and particularly if these players are likely to be selected later on for the Gold Cup roster where they will miss more time. Hence no Larin, Ricketts, Akindele, Johnson, Osorio, De Jong, Teibert, etc. I believe that the MLS players being called for the Scotland match have not even made the field or Tissot's case even the bench for their MLS teams early on in the season (granted it is early) with the exception of Lefevre, but I am guessing because we are so thin on defense right now that perhaps a bit of begging/pleading may have gone on there. Otherwise, the others that were called probably won't be missed as yet and
nolando
This hodge-podge versus a brilliant -looking Scottish line-up? 3-1 loss, if we're really lucky and only if Scotland takes their foot off of the gas a bit. Findlay might be able to generate a bit of offense based on his previous interim work, hence the consolation goal, which I'll wildly predict will go to a soon-to-be impressive Aleman. Ansem
I hope Zambrano won't deal with this BS. During international date, clubs are required to release their players to play for their national team when called upon.

The article also states that many NA starters weren't called up due to the start of the season.
Obinna
I don't think the squad for Scotland is that terrible. Sure it could be stronger, but Haber, Arfield, Hoilett and Jackson are all in good form, so the attack should be fine. I like the Bustos call too, and with good players around him, perhaps he himself can raise his level to the potential we know he has. The back is a little dicey, but if Tissot, James and Lefvere are players who will likely play a part in WCQ 2022, so i'm happy to test them now against some good strikers, to see how they cope. I'm excited to see how they do to be honest. It's not as if they are squaring up against Messi, Neymar and Suarez. Chris Martin (Jackson's former Norwich teammate), Steven Fletcher, Leigh Griffiths and co. are USMNT level strikers, which even our depth guys should get accustom to facing. Knowing how we've lined up in the past, my guess to start is: ---------------Haber-------------- Hoilett---Arfield---Piette----Aird ---------------Straith-------------- Tissot---Lefvere--James--Ledgerwood --------------Leutwiler---------------
