Comment on Tosh Ricketts. Google translate is awful, but I don't think this is good. Any German speakers among us?

Dynamo Dresden: Tosaint Ricketts kommt vorerst nicht – Amand Ella abgereist

18 Juli 2012, 3:31

Very rough translate

The fans of Dynamo Dresden must wait until further notice to the idea of a new attacker. During the weekend with two goals in a 4-0 against 1 FK Pribram prominent Italo-Brazilians yesterday at a respectable 0-0 against Manchester City was no longer used and is not obligated to Tosaint Ricketts could also ran, even though coach Ralf Loose would like them taken again under the microscope.

But apparently the 24-year-old striker is preparing the Romanian first division club Politehnica Timisoara, to which the Canadians is closely tied to 2013, issues. After Ricketts had already informed himself on his Facebook page, to play against Manchester can not, because his estranged club jackknifing, now sporting director Steffen confirmed dynamos Menze, that there is no release for Ricketts from Romania. As "Radio Dresden" reports, the Vepflichtung the attacker, who has scored four goals in three test matches, so at least for now burst.

Not cool Politehnica. Freakin' PAY him then, if you wanna be like that.

This would be consistent with Tosaint's twitter comments ... first "light session done... next up @dynamo Dresden vs Manchester City ‪#lifehighlight" followed by "what a blow.. ".

Presumably, the second comment coming after he realized that he wouldn't be able to play against Man City, or that he is still battling to get away from Politehnica, or both.

I wonder if his non-release is an official FIFA ruling or whether he still has options to fight this?

Unfortunately it appears that Christopher Maidana had been called to an Argentina U17 camp back in 2008. I will take him off the list until he switches his allegiance back to Canada.

http://www.afa.org.ar/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=7199%3AEl+Sub+17+ir%C3%A1+a++Ecuador%2C+Venezuela%2C+Costa+Rica%2C+El+Salvador+y+Honduras&Itemid=218

He's a '92 so won't be eligible for any age restricted NT's going forward*. The only way this kid ends up suiting up for Canada is if he makes it as a starter in the Argentine Primera anyway, but still would be nice to have a little more competition in net.

* Isn't it absolutely ridiculous that for players born at the tail end of a U23 cycle that the pathway to the MNT basically ends at the age of 20? I have advocated using Youth NT funds for the older age groups to bridge the gap between U20 and MNT as opposed to U15's, but hey, what do i know?

Edit: Actually, funny enough, Maidana is no longer listed with Racing Club anyways!

Hmmmm, interesting. Greece 1, Croatia 1.....those are good levels. Unterhaching and Burghausen, not bad. No clue though about Hungary 2 or Qatar 1!

Unterhaching and Burghausen shouldn't be high enough levels for Canada...but it's been proven we will take guys from those levels of play.

But looking closer, Georgiadis is 29 and has played 5 games in the top flight.

Christopher Scott is very young....what's the story there that he hasn't been heard of? Doesn't appear he's gotten into the first team there. Same with Groschel, Bir and Sangara.

Taj Sangara played for Surrey United in 2011: http://www.surreyunitedsoccer.com/senior/weekly-roundup-winter-10-11/jan-31.htm

Played alongside Caleb Clarke as a U-16:

"In the U-16 boys final, Coastal WFC’s starting XI featured Luke O’Shea in goal, Ethan Samuel, Pavi Dhillon, Daniel Gazzola and Spencer Goodman on defence, Jeff Ng, Alex Orasa, Declan Rodriguez and Rajan Kooner at midifield, and Caleb Clarke and Taj Sangara up front."

Hmm..a lot of sites have him listed as born in Greece. He looks a lot like a Greek Pacheco. Defensive mid. Mostly second tier but a few kicks at the can in the top tier. A full year older than Pacheco at 29 y/o. Same listed value as around 300 K Euros.

Would have been nice to know about 5 or 6 years ago, I figure.

Tier 4 - it's a start! Good for him. Giving it a go. Robbie Tice is in 2nd division ... Norway? Having never seen Robbie play, but knowing Ethan's playing history have to believe Ethan is equal or superior to Robbie. Ethan will move up fairly fast I am sure.

Now how about Attakora - a low level contract where Ethan is making peanuts is sufficient, but not for Nana?

Ethan Gage has signed for three months with Nykoping Bissarna in Sweden. I believe they are in the fourth tier (Division 2 Södra Svealand).

Wow seriously? 4th tier Sweden? That must be equivalent to 2nd division Finland, and when players go there I no longer consider them prospects (unless you are REB and score 16 goals in 20 games). I am of the opinion that offensive players (who score goals) are more likely to catch someones eye, so unless I am totally underestimating this level of football, this is a bad move. Wouldn't he be better off at FCE or another club in the NASL?

Pozinak joins the recent group of Canadians to play second tier football in Scandinavia, as he was loaned out to second tier side Bryne until the end of the season:

- Chris has struggled with injuries this year and not gotten as much playing time since he came back. When Bryne came into play, we think it was a good solution is to hire him out, says sports chief Asbjørn Helgeland to tv2.no.

- I am very happy with this. We have worked long to achieve this agreement. He is a good player who has been involved in FKHs journey up and about and will hopefully spread the confidence in our team, explains Bryne coach Tommy Bergersen to Stavanger Aftenblad.

- When we decided to accelerate the signing of David Myre Stamford because it does not cost us all the world, it has become even tougher competition for Chris. We have many defensive players to choose from, explains Helgeland.

Not sure the meaning of this, but perhaps Borjan has agreed to an extension at Sivasspor or resolved his earlier contractual problems with them: http://www.sivasspor.tk/forum/showthread.php?tid=772

I thought he was still under contract with them for this year but from what I can get from an online translation it sounds like he wasn't and that he signed with them again. The article says they have 5 keepers (including Borjan) signed but one has a long term injury and another is on a transfer list and playing with the 2nd team. That left them with the guy who took over after Borjan left who is 32 and mostly a 2nd division starter/1st division back up throughout his career and his backup who hardly played last year. It seems that Sivaspor watched Borjan closely in Romania and were impressed by his performance. Looks like the starting keeper job will be up for grabs.

Has to be FCK, the only other clubs in Kaiserslautern are like 6th or 7th division.

I hope so, but K'town is one of the bigger centres in that area of Germany and there are many many clubs not far away, including FC Saarbrucken.
