The New Mother Of All Canadians Abroad

While were throwing out long shots... Cavallini's teammate Juan Cruz Mascia -the kid you scored against us at the U-17 WC- listed as Canadian by Transfermarkt:

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/juan-cruz-mascia/profil/spieler_179297.html

He may have dual citizenship as his mother might be Canadian (Paysée). However, I'm not sure he was born in Canada.

There are lots of other sources that state he was born in Montevideo.

Wikipedia in english: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Cruz_Mascia

Wikipedia in spanish: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juan_Cruz_Mascia

A facebook fanpage: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Juan-Cruz-Mascia-Pays%C3%A9e/215479805148053?sk=info

I understand all those sources may not be reliable but transfertmarkt seems to be the only source stating he was born in Canada. It would better if we had a source more trustworthy, like from his club Nacional.

Sotiri Varlokostas (bench) and Kyle Hall (90 minutes) were in the lineup for New England reserves against TFC Reserves. Don't know if these are actual trials, or New England just couldn't be bothered to bring subs for the reserve game so just grabbed a few players that were in the area.

No hint from his brand new twitter account: https://twitter.com/#!/sccrstyls

Another article posted today at mlssoccer.com talks about Cdns on the move in Germany. It states that Adam Straith is looking for a club after being released by Cottbus but in fact, as Grizzly posted some time back , he has been signed by FC Saarbruecken and has been playing the last 2 weeks in exhibition matches.

Fear not Ed, I've had Straith listed with Saarbrucken for a few weeks.

Edit: currently playing in Danish third tier (2 Div. Ost) with BK Glostrup Albertslund

Old article, but I don't think I've ever seen this guy mentioned:

"Yousuf Butt has represented various clubs in Denmark. Also having a Canadian nationality, he is said to have been selected in the Canada Under-19 team a couple of years ago, only declining that offer since he wanted to represent Pakistan. Yousuf, who currently plays for Birker¯d IF Skjold in Denmark, used to play as a goalkeeper in Danish 1st Division for Hellerup Idraets Klub (HIK), a Danish sport club from Hellerup, Copenhagen. Born on October 18, 1989, Yousuf impressed his manager Hasse Kuhn who refers to him as a ‘future star’."

Niall Cousens has left his club.

He said on Twitter

My contract with SK Slavia Praha has come to an end and it's time to move on. The last 3 years in Prague have been extremely beneficial and I'm looking forward to the next step in my career.

Yassine Bounou (1991 - keeper) has apparently signed with Atletico Madrid B. According to some links he was born in Montreal, but has played with Morocco U23's.
