Saw on Google's pre-match analysis that we have lost 12 of 14 world cup games against UEFA opponents, with the only 2 non-losses in 2015 on home soil. Wild stat.

Hopefully the second half will complete the comeback and result in three points. Failing to beat the Republic of Ireland would be a major wake up call for Canadian women's soccer because the relative population sizes involved should favour the CWNT and soccer isn't necessarily even the main sport for women in the RoI. A game called camogie has traditionally been promoted by Irish nationalists:

On ITV1, Lucy Ward said it was ominous for Ireland as Canada couldn't play any worse.
