PegCityCam
If you can get over this guy's odd cadence and tone variation it's definitely worth a watch. Don't get me wrong, I'm as excited as the rest of y'all about this WC but that doesn't mean it hasn't become a joke at this point...a terrible, pathetic and cruel joke. red card
EA Sports has predicted the last 3 World Cup winners. They're another one picking Argentina over Brasil. Top goal scorers are Messi, Depay & Mbappe. Canada doesn't make it out of the group stage. https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/fifa/fifa-23/news/ea-sports-fifa-world-cup-22-prediction Edited November 8, 2022 by red card johnyb

All Group A, B, C, and D winners/2nd place are on the left side, and Group E/F/G/H winners/2nd place is on the right. It should be staggered like left side: A/C/E/G winners and B/D/F/H 2nd place, and vice versa on the right side 🤨 An Argentina/Brazil knockout match, assuming they both top their respective groups, could only happen on the same side of the bracket in the semi-finals, no? johnyb

Yup, they messed up. EA has removed the bracket graphic from the web page. But still have Argentina defeating Brazil in the final. johnyb

red card
LLoyd's models the World Cup based on insurable value which includes wages, sponsorships, age and position played. They picked correctly the 2014 & 2018 winners. This time they pick England to edge out Brazil. Argentina & Spain also make the semis. Canada finishes last in Group F. https://www.insurancejournal.com/news/international/2022/11/10/694665.htm johnyb

Shame on them. narduch
lamptern
And more ridiculous thing is, I can’t even pay for a 4K feed locally unless streaming it from BBC or FOX app which needs to be working on a VPN. Anyone has any idea about going the VPN way? Edited November 15, 2022 by lamptern
RS
Looking at TSN's schedule, it looks like they never broadcast anything in 4K that they don't produce themselves. I'm not sure what the thinking is behind that apparent policy, and it's not a decision I would make, but it seems to be consistent across the board. Still weird though. johnyb
red card
137 players or almost 16.5% will be playing for a country that they're not born. 28 teams have a foreign born player. Argentina, Brazil, Saudi Arabia & Korea are the exceptions. 38 were born in France. 17 born in England but most playing for Wales. 7 each in Germany & Spain. 1 in Canada. First CAF country to win World Cup will be thanks to France. PegCityCam, johnyb and lamptern

Brazil should win.. Im not sure how people have Argentina on the other side of the bracket. Maybe they throw a group game to avoid Brazil Edited November 16, 2022 by SpursFlu Shway
Gian-Luca
It’s not weird that Beckie is being used by TSN but I do find it weird if she missed Canada prep matches for the Women’s team in order to prepare instead for sitting behind a desk talking about soccer. It’s not like this would be her first time as an analyst.
SpursFlu
The images coming out of Qatar are a little odd. Seems they had a giant parade of nations that seems to not include anyone actually from those nations. Well at least the locals are getting the spirit. Argentina seems to be popular amongst the locals Edited November 16, 2022 by SpursFlu
