How about this...

Sung to the air of Tequila...(Horn part could be like na na na na ne na na, then instead of every saying Tequila everyone says Buchanan!

Nice idea ….. except… have you ever been to a game where Atiba plays?

edit: hope the text comes across as genuine and not condescending. This is already sung for Hutch.

Watching the World Juniors has got me thinking we should adopt Canadian goal song (Hey Baby) after each Canadian goal. Easy, catchy song anyone can get in on that can be adapted to pretty much any goal scorers name. Just replace baby with a 2 syllable portion of any players name.

Heyyyyy, Hey Davies/David/Larin/Tajon/(you get the point)

We've been singing a version of hat at PFC games since game one in 2019;

Heeyyyy, Hey [Player]
Oooh, Ahhh!
I wanna knoooooww,
Will you score a goal.
Hey. Hey, hey, hey hey...

Hey Davies was a very popular/fun one at the Edmonton games.

Can anyone with Photoshop skills put together a poster of Pulisic looking in the mirror and seeing The Man Alphonso Davies for the Jan 30 match?

The lyrics are kinda complicated and don't really flow. What's the tune?
;)

Interesting read so far.  With current capacity cutbacks may be moot

It seems obvious as an outsider that you're intentionally ignoring the most obvious choice for a Cancon catchy pop tune instantly rewcognizable to many.  Probably familiarity or perhaps overuse.  Whatever MWH nailed it 1977 I think

Johnny plays forward

Stephan stays back

Phonzie and Cyle

and Buchanasn attack

.......

If you want everybody singiing, just sayin'

LOL.  The imagination runs riot.  Not sure it translates well to the younger demographics but I can so see a bunch of older Vs six pints deep having a ball with it down at the pub.

OK,  since I'm now in a Throwback Saturday mood some bits and bobs around 1985 the year Canada won the CONCACAF Championship and qualified for the World Cup Finals in Mexico '86.  A 24 team tournament that editon.

Brian Mulroney was Prime Minister of Canada with the largest Parlimentary majority in Canadian history I believe.  The BC Lions, yes Lions, would win the Grey Cup that November,  The Oilers had the Stanley Cup nice and cozy in their trophy case and Porky's Revenge would finish the year as the 45th best grossing moving.

Al Hackner skipped Northern Ontario to a Brier Championship over Pat Ryan's Alberta in dramatic fashion.

Italy were World Cup Champions, France Kings of Europe and away up north The Dons with a certain Alex Ferguson at the helm were defending their league title.

Craig Forest was at Ipswich,

That May Platini scored for Juventus to give the Italian side a European Cup.  That was the match at Heysel against Liverpool which would see English clubs banned from Europe for 5 years.  All the tragidy happened prior to kick-off and well, the show went on.  Can you imagine?  A terrace riot, structural collapse and dozens dead and we'll just delay kick off whilst we tidy up a bit.  And banning English clubs?  At least they got the day half right.

Yours truly hadn't dropped out of high school yet and was motoring around without a drivers license sincerly trying to stay out of serious trouble.  The Wee Elf and Co. would be new citizens to Wolsley that year, decades before gentrification started to take root.  Welcome to Winnipeg!  Lock the door

And just to give an idea of what might have been in the players and publics ears that year.....  Top of the pops from 1985 when the Canadian Men's National Team last qualifed for the World Cup Finals.  Bit of different world now, eh?

Ambitious, but my dream is to have a WC song in March if we qualify against Jamaica. Song is based off a Bilingual voyageur song. Would be a slower version of this:

Voyageur! va faire tes bagages
C’est à l’aube que nous partirons
C’est à l’aube oui, oui, oui
C’est à l’aube non, non, non
C’est à l’aube que nous partirons

E=Everyone

C= Capo

I would translate it to:

E: Voyageur! Go and back your bags

E: We are going to the World Cup

C : Les Rouges are going E:OUI OUI OUI

C Jamaica's going E: NON NON NON

E: We are going to the World cuuuuup

We are going OUI OUI OUI

They are going NON NON NON

We are going to the world cup

With apologies for my High School French from 40 years ago:

Voyageurs

(tune: Chevalier de la Table Ronde)

Voyageurs dans un grand bataillon
Nous chantons, si le jeu est bon.
Voyageurs dans un grand bataillon
Nous chantons, si le jeu est bon.

Nous chantons, oui, oui, oui!
Nous chantons, non, non, non!
Nous chantons, si le jeu est bon.
[repeat chorus each time]

S'il est bon, s'il est agréable

J'en boirai jusqu'à mon plaisir
S'il est bon, s'il est agréable
J'en boirai jusqu'à mon plaisir

J'en boirai, oui oui oui
J'en boirai, non non non
J'en boirai jusqu'à mon plaisir

Voyageurs à la coupe du monde,
Au nom de tout le Canada, allez!

Voyageurs à la coupe du monde,
Au nom de tout le Canada, allez!

Au nom de tout, oui, oui, oui!
Au nom de tout, non, non, non!
Au nom de tout le Canada, allez!

what about one side of the voyageurs chant to the other side of the voyagers across the field and they reply? A chant could be

One side: Oh Canada

Other side: Oh Baby

Repeat

I think @dyslexic nam first suggested this.

We haven't doe it yet but I'm officially calling this chant The Wheeler.

With the V's split on both sides I think think this could work superbly well in Hamilton.  It would be new so it would be fun but it also follow @admin 's rule of keeping it simple; with hand gesture of a call and response chant across the pitch we can get the "loud is felt" effect.

I know most of you geezers cant do half a squat, but if the drunk Irish can do it why cant we?
"GET LOW, FOR THE BOYS IN RED,

GET LOW, FOR THE BOYS IN RED,
GET LOW, FOR THE BOYS IN RED!
STAND UP FOR THE BOYS IN RED!
STAND UP FOR THE BOYS IN RED!
STAND UP FOR THE BOYS IN RED!
STAND UP FOR THE BOYS IN RED!
repeat.

Who knows, it might not be game appropriate, some people said in the thread we should keep it simple for the soccer moms. If they understand this chant then im shocked.

Get low for the boys in red!

Having lived in Ireland, I can assure you they will perform any two single-syllable word task for the boys in green imaginable 😂

Ah! Thanks for the info! also, we NEED to take the piss out of the US somehow. I mean were playing our biggest rivals. "We burnt the f***** whitehouse to the ground!" was a great one in 2019.

That is the classic anti-US chant.

If Pulisic takes a corner on our end I want to yell "Grouper Fish" at him:
