Amazing insight!

Interesting note on the league needing to approve Langwa's contract before Hart could provide the actual paperwork. I know nothing about this sort of thing, but know the discussion of team vs. league owned contracts has been beat to death around here. Maybe a hybrid?

Probably just a standard approval and registration process. All major NA leagues have a similar process whereby a player signs a contract and the contract has to be approved by the league. I'm not sure if the process is designed to protect the club and/or league or if it's just part of the player registration process but I've heard of similar instances in other sports.

Halifax are my contenders to win this year. Perea was quite good for San Martin when he was still in Peru. Guti on the other hand was very good before he moved to Sweden. When he came back to Peru, he didn't really get much of a chance. I reckon he'll do fine here because he is talented. Obviously it's not just those 2 though, that Trinidad keeper I hear is quality!

I agree they will be very competitive season 1.

a mix of very good young and experienced players. Sukunda, Hocine, DeCarolis, Simmons, Langwa all bring priceless European first team experience to the squad. Add to that four excellent players from T&T with tons of experience and likewise the two from South America and you have a very strong core. Schaale, Lamy and Kodai are very interesting players who I think will do very well and also make an impact season one. Players like Scott Firth-and the beast may need a while longer to adjust to the professional level. Need two more wingers/forwards IMO. Wouldn’t be surprised if someone like Twardek was on the radar for a summer signing as would be a good fit for HFX and ex teammate of Langwa at OSU ( possibly Simmons too).

Kourouma, who was born in Guinea, West Africa but raised in Montreal, is signing for the Wanderers after playing for two seasons with Miami in the USL Premier Development League.

Joining him in signing for the team is Abd-El-Aziz Yousef who was born in Saudi Arabia before growing up in Vancouver.

He was trying out for a team in Holland when his agent got him in touch with the Wanderers.

If you exclude the three U-sports draft picks, they only have 18 players so far. There may still be scope for two more signings in other words.

Abd-El-Aziz Yousef is listed as having no previous club:

which is very unusual at this level of the sport. I draw a blank when I try to google him.

Found a glitch in the matrix.  If you try to order a jersey with a player's name they have the entire roster including the new signings from today with the associated jersey number.

https://shop.canpl.ca/halifax-wanderers-macron-authentic-home-cpl-soccer-jersey.html

A player listed on the jersey site that has not been officially signed - Tomasz Skublak - Forward - USF NCAA.  Too add to our list of nicknames - Skoobie

Also, it is interesting the numbers for players and implications for positions:

  • Bona 3
  • De Carolis 24
  • Al Aziz Yousef 22
  • Firth 15
  • Garcia 11
  • Gutierrez 7
  • Hocine 4
  • IIDA 9
  • John 5
  • Kourouma 12
  • Lamy 14
  • Langwa 20
  • N'Sa 6
  • Ouattara 13
  • Oxner 50
  • Perea 10
  • Rampersad 18
  • Schaale 2
  • Simmons 8
  • Skublak - 17
  • Sukunda - 25

I must be the only one who thinks the home kit is dreadful.

Home kit: great! Away isn't bad but those are the Pacific FC colors...I don't get it.

Good point, honestly I would have reversed the 2. Celestial blue seems more appropriate.
