The Canadians are:

Chris Nanco, 1995 Sigma grad from Brampton, playing at Syracuse, short, dynamic attacker.

Brian Wright, big tall striker from Ajax, Ontario, playing for Vermont.

Kwame Awuah, a mid from Toronto playing for U Conn.

We can add Shamit Shome to that list. He's been given a generation adidas contract.

Good, thanks, true. They do say they would add some Generation Adidas, and a few internationals, not sure on what basis that is.

In any case, they have like 13 player per team with just the Combine invites, not enough really, they need more to fill out rosters and be able to scrimmage even, and do basic subs. So is there a list of the others invited to play?

still apparently needs to have the transfer approved:

Pending his transfer, Shome will take part in next week’s MLS combine in Los Angeles and be eligible for the subsequent MLS SuperDraft on Jan. 13.

Hopefully they have good combine showing. Hope to see more CGA contracts given in the future perhaps 5 players. I do think there are more talents that should of been given a contract. Shome is considered a high pick and will be great to see how he fares in MLS plus it does not have to be with Canadian MLS team which is great for him to find a team who he can grow with in the future.

From the bits I saw, I didn't notice Shome that much, but was more involved in the second half. Didn't make many mistakes. Started at AM, moved into a more defensive role later in the game and played RB for a bit as well. The team he was on was absolutely dreadful. Some other opinions:

More Mock Draft Fun:

Chris Nanco going at number 16 to Seattle.
Brian Wright going at number 22 to Seattle.

We really need to find out the international/domestic status of these Canadians in the draft. Will really affect their potential draft position.

Just a quick FYI - I have a pod coming out w an interview with Bobby from Sigma where he discusses the showcase but also Awuah and Nanco. I can also post a new NCAA 2017 thread as there is news from that event.

The point being is - when talking with SIgma, I was 99.9% sure I was told that based on the new rule both Awuah and Nanco will be counted as domestics. Has anyone else heard info on this? Again, I was certain this was told to me because they also said the shit thing about it was that Laryea isn't domestic yet and he'll have to wait like Larin did to be in the US long enough.

I only watched about 10 mins of the second game, but Reid was lively on the ball, created a few corners, made a good pass into space for a forward to run on to. By comparison on a rush one of the other players went 1 v 5 despite having Reid in more space to his left.

I was so pissed off watching that jackass play, every time he'd try to take the entire left side on alone and lose the ball every time. He'd be dropped if he did that in an OSL game.

BTW, did you mean counterattack?

Not sure if you're being serious (nothing personal, I just have no idea where folks stand anymore on some of these issues), but I am actually (genuinely) impressed that we were included like that.  Despite the banter in the CPL thread, I think most folks are quite happy about the success of our MLS clubs.  It is good that the league recognized the maple leaf - especially when it would have been extremely easy to default solely to the stars and stripes.
