Here's a few updates I found through TransferMarkt. I'm going to do a bit more digging too.

However, here's an idea. There seems to be A LOT of players that are on this list that I have never heard or, nor would likely ever hear of if not for having looked at this list.

Is it really necessary to be having players 4th Division Sweden and 5th Division Switzerland on here? It really should be condensed to something like the top three leagues for each country, then maybe top 5 for the big leagues like England, Germany, Italy, Spain..

Without an extensive knowledge of languages, can be quite difficult to find information on players in these remote leagues.

While I am looking at the list, I find myself wondering if some of these guys I am trying to find in these obscure leagues aren't in their 50's and long retired. Its doubtful anyone on the board would even know if the player was obscure enough. Anyway, just my two cents.

I'll continue trying to find updates on some of these obscure players in the mean time.

I will look into these updates tomorrow if I have time, but expect from me most of my major updates to be on Sundays :) Hope that's cool with you all! And yes, deschamps, I agree with you about the league bits. Personally I'm completely open to suggestion about anything.

I plan to let most of you guys do the legwork and arguing, and I will simply update the thread as you guys tell me to keep the list as fresh as possible :) But I will be researching too if the things are vague, so try to give me as much info as you can on each post including the league and name of the league to help me out so I don't have to spend 40 hours a week on it. That's what chased jpg out :)

Point taken, but we shouldn't write any players off. Simeon Jackson was starting out, he was loaned to a 9th tier English side. Sure, there aren't many examples like him, but half the fun is finding players who are well off the radar.

^Agreed. But it's also part of the history of this thread to celebrate any and all Canadian abroad. Historically, there has been literally no standard too low. I think Marty Rose was even on the list for awhile until he actually asked to be taken off. :)

That's fine, I don't mind. But how about I make like another legend for this thread, like a Three star rule, to go at the end of a name

*** being definitely a canadian until such a time they become traitorous scum or cap tied.

** a player of split nationalities who seems undecided, and may decide Canada

* a player that has more tenuous ties to Canada that is unlikely to play here

and maybe no stars just means I need more clarification

Would you guys object to a system like that, and help with it?

Oh and can you add height, weight and zodiac sign?? jk :)

lol nice! The problem with putting position is that the thread will get cluttered. "He's playing RB now!" "No, he's technically still a midfielder, and that's where he operates best!" And that's one of the MOST well known players!

STARS or COLOR System would be great I think. Another little thing I would like to add would be when you Actually make the UPDATE have somewhere on the page:

UPDATED on 1march, 2013 (page 6) as sometimes people endup writing a bunch of stuff during the week and it's hard to follow where you left off. Then:

UPDATED on 8march, 2013 (page17) etc, you guys get the idea. then it's easier for everyone to sort thru the thread IMHO.
