madmonte
Last Major Update August 30/2015Last Minor Update September 7/2015RULES: Minimum league criterion It am going to base it off of UEFA's ratings for league coefficients.http://www.uefa.com/memberassociatio...lub/index.html If a player is in a league (at the time of posting) Ranked 1-3: (ie, England, Germany, Spain) they will be tracked to the SIXTH tier. Will not post any tier lower than sixth. Ranked 4-6: Will be tracked to the fifth tier. Ranked 7-15: Will be tracked to the 4th tier Ranked 16-30: Will be tracked to the 3rd tier Ranked 31 or lower: Will be tracked to the 2nd tier only. For youth systems looking for U-18 or higher. For non european leagues, the equivalent will be used. For example, Brazil would compare to a 1-3 league, Argentina would compare to a 4-6 league, Uruguay, Japan, South Korea to 7-15. May be generous. Exceptions will be made for players that have played in the Canadian system, be it senior or U-whatever, they will be posted no matter WHAT league they end up in.COLOR INDEXBLACK = Currently in National Team Pool. Has st recently played for a Canadian National Team.RED = Full Canadian, with no split nationality, that has not yet played for a national squad. (not used a lot...most have played at least for a U squad)BLUE = Player of split nationality that is undecided OR a Full Canadian that has shown (with proof) that they may not commit.GREEN = Ties to Canada are slightly more tenuous. Born here, or lived here a short time. OR Canadian by heritage only. For players in Canada, a permanent resident, but not a citizen. Likely to be listed as a different nationality on soccerway or transfermrkt. More unlikely to be Canadian national. Notes: (1) Any player on the list that plays a game, be it a friendly, youth game, or what have you, for any other nation besides Canada will be removed fee this list immediately. Any player that has last represented a different nation will not be on this list, no exceptions. If I mistakenly have any players on this list that have represented another nation, update me. (2) Any player on this list color coded red, blue or green that plays for Canada at any level will immediately be color coded black. Keep me updated! (3) For MLS/NASL/USL Pro players in Canada, declaring that you might want to play for Canada to some extent will not get a player on the list. Becoming a permanent resident will get a player color coded green. Becoming a citizen will get a player color coded blue. madmonte
MODS: STICKY THIS ONE, UNSTICKY THE OLD ONE Good god, here goes. I posted this to start. We were looking for someone to do this thread for 2 months and someone bloody well had to jump to the plate. Personally though, I'd propose that if your Canadian link is tenous at best, that you shouldn't make this list. There are guys that I'd edit off this list already because of that, but I want to stay true to how it was being done in the past For updates, I need more solid proof than twitter posts. I will cross relate through transfermarket. And I'm hella new so I'm going to need LOTS of help, assistance, and advice to keep this thread proper, so if I need to be corrected by more senior Voyageurs, cut me some slack, and I really don't mind, as long as you keep the criticism constructive and clean. If not, I will /quote this paragraph pretty fast. If there are any early objections to my doing this, then someone else step up to the plate, because I don't mind someone more senior and knowledgable taking control here, but someone has to do it. madmonte
Wow. Nice work. Didn't see Kyle Porter in the USA list. Didn't he just sign with DC United? Still on trial, I think. Not listed on their site yet. http://www.dcunited.com/players Edit: Checked. Porter, Ryan Richter, and Marco Sanchez all still listed as trialists as of Feb 21st. http://www.dcunited.com/news/2013/02/march-to-march-9-preseason-roster-update Second Edit: Just saw this thread. Next week they will be siging the contracts. The Players have agreed to the contracts being offered to them by the team all that remains is for them to put their signature, that should happen next week. Michal should be getting around 1000$/month plus maybe his appartment being paid by the club. But that's it. EDIT: In Poland II Liga(D3) teams barely survive, MKS Nowy Swit OPERATING budget is probably around 1mil PLN that's roughly 340k CAD per season at that level of play players can't negociate contracts. Once a player reaches I Liga(D2) levels, and only then there are "minimum" salaries. Mind you the situation of polish soccer clubs is pathetic to say the least 50% of them in Ekstraklasa & I Liga wouldn't survive if not for money given to them by the City where they operate. Another 25% barely survive, and only 25% can say they have solid finances. Big clubs like Wisla Krakow or Slask Wroclaw that had rich owners had to drastically cut their budgets in last few years and sell off players. Many players do NOT get paid for 3-6months at a time. Keep in mind it's supposed to be a 1st world country in the EU and all......long time ago I said let the clubs die off, stop the cities giving them money every year without end. Even if it means a D1 and D2 with 10teams each. The top salary in Esktraklasa this year belongs to Danijel Ljuboja @ 500k EUROS but most avg players will never see that kind of money in the polish league. Within 10years MLS teams will be stronger than the Top Polish ones at a fraction of the cost probably.

On a 3rd tier team that may be relegated. Oh well we've seen that before unfortunately. Yes it's an ugly situation unfortunately. But at least he is willing to play instead of just quitting. As for beig relegated they will need a miracle, really. The coach has almost no experience a that level of soccer(D3!!!) and the club doesn't really have money. If he does well even if the club get relegated he should be able to get a spot on a I Liga(D2) team.

madmonte
I'm not sure about Opare, I think not? He has played internationally for US U-20 squad has he not? I'm new to running this thread and need some guidelines, but for me, if Rochat isn't on the list (and I don't think he should be) then Opare, by virtue of having already played internationally for another country, is off the list too. If there comes a time he decides to play for Canada, then he could go back on it. I'm waiting for some clarification on that, then. jpg75, you around? How is this handled?
