    • Ugbo's Wednesday leading and therefore (extra) safe as it stands  0-1 almost 40' in. Now 0-2.
    • Just a reminder of which games are meaningfully to the Championship final table. - Ugbo and Wednesday need a point ( or help) to avoid relegation    - West Brom, who are playing Millar's PNE, need a point to secure a playoff spot (barring a goal difference miracle elsewhere).
    • They are away to Sevilla, at 9 local time, tomorrow Sunday. Pretty well every match now is a must-win to avoid relegation, and even then....
    • Season is over as Puebla finished dead last in the Liga MX Clausura and didn't make the playoffs.  Lucas had 3 goals in 16 games in the Clausura
    • Very good point. I think the technicality is that City Group does not have majority ownership of Girona, they have the largest chunk but under 50%. Bolivian Marcelo Claure has just over a third and with the share of Pere Guardiola, Pep's brother, they control 51%.  But still, it is a decent point. You could make it too if the Red Bull clubs had to face each other.  I did not know that City were going to take Savio from Girona, I somehow thought Girona could sell him on. He had a great season, cooling off a bit in the 2nd half as has the entire club (though they are still in a CL spot and fight to stay in 2nd this weekend hosting Barça).  The point about Troyes and Ugbo: everyone says yeah, well this or that club is City Group so they have a lot of money and have these little advantages, but you still have to perform on and off the pitch. Newcastle is loaded as well and has seriously underperformed. Troyes seems to have poor local management. Girona has very grassroots sports management, as I have posted before, local guys, many who were mid-level pros, all of whom worked with youth: my son was at a high performance soccer school and camps here about 12-14 years ago run by guys I still know who then moved on to Girona, Totó who does training methods, Santi Pou former Espanyol who does academy structure and scouting, and the sporting director Quique Cárcel, all modest local guys who are pleasant, consistent, believe in youth, then are very focused and motivated. The whole way of putting together the team and getting the maximum from signings is exemplary, they are a model for any modest project anywhere.
