This camp has not been announced on the CSA website, as yet. Does anyone know who the players invited were, and from which provinces?

Thx.

From the Quebec City district soccer association:

I know Boucher is a goalkeeper and won the Best GK award at this summer National Championship.

Cone-of-Silence is in place.

Clemson played Davidson prior to the u17s , brief update is on their webpage;

Clemson played the u17s, 1-1 – no update on the Clemson site or the CSA site;

Clemson updates site with new release about pre-season all American after u17 game and to pump next pre-season game at Riggs later today.

UAB beat Jacksonville 7-0 on the 19th, brief report on their site;

UAB lose 0-1 to u17s on the 21st – no update on the UAB site or the CSA site;

UAB update their site to promote final pre-season game which is later today;

Samford University, same thing, Tuseday’s game report very brief, site updated on the 24th – no mention of u17 game.

BTW – proudpapa reports score as 4-1 victory for the u17s on BigRed.

The “Cone-of-silence” is in place for a reason.

I wonder why?

It seem that the camp wasn't fully sponsored by CSA. It was sponsored partly by a US organisation or University. So they dictate the agenda. It's probably not a good thing to post that top division 1 team getting beat by 16 years old. They need the competition but not the possible outcome.

  • 2 weeks later...

Seems like the Europeans are set to play their first UEFA U17 championships this October, which would qualify teams for next summer's U17 WC.

40 teams entered... incredidble to see some of the countries... i.e. Cyprus, Moldova!

Proof that the Women's game is really taking off world-wide.
