  1. Why was this group of player inexperieced and young? We have a pool of more than 30 available players with international and world cup experience. The U-17 world cup quarter-finalist and the 1990's U-20 CONCACAF champions. that's the coach decision. It's not because we have a new coach and a new system that we have to start from scratch and discard everything that was done before. There are some very good word class potential player from those 2 teams that did not get a chance to perform. I like beautiful soccer also and the canadian team that perfomed last week did not play good soccer, they were outplayed by minor teams like Guatemala and Cuba. This is big time failure only 5 of the 7 players with international experience played the games. I understand that we want to develop younger players but not at the expense of the players that are already qualified to do the job. Most of the 2008 teams players are now playing in NCAA and are doing very well. I believe it would have been very easy to qualified and compete for the gold with those playes. Canada games soccer is way below the international level. I am sorry but the coaching staff has to take the blame for this one. A bunch of inexperience coaches should not rely on inexperience players went they are under-budget and have 6 months and 3 camps for preparation. I am sure they will learn from there mistake but it's too late for the 2008 youth world cup players. Probably the best crop of canadian female player since 2003. http://www.canadasoccer.com/tourney/FIFA_U17WWC/FU17WWC_2008roster.asp http://www.canadasoccer.com/tourney/FIFA_U20WWC/FU20WWC_2008roster.asp?
  2. Maybe a Canadian club team or a showcase team because there are many teams from Canada in Florida or Cuba during the holidays. I think Cuba U20 wants to get the feeling of playing a canadian team before CONCACAF. Because I taught it was odd that the U20 NAT would play twice a team that's in the same group just before qualifications. If it was so, it would have been great for Cuba, but I don't know what Canada would have got out of it.
  3. Canada Women's Nat U20 will play their only game of the camp today december 18 in Boca Raton and not against Cuba (team TBA)

  7. A U20 camp coming up at the end of the month in Mexico. 90% of the player pool plays NCAA. It seems that it was a big battle for many NCAA universities to release the players in this critical part of the season. Concacaf World Cup qualifications is coming up this January in Guatemala

  10. The canadian roster should be out soon for the 1st camp. The US team have already made 4 or 5 camps and more than 10 games this year. That's what we call a big head start. http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_15073286.html The U.S. U-20s will come together next in mid-July for a training camp in Colorado run concurrently with the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team that will feature several matches against the Canada U-20s.
  11. The Comets will loose 6 players or more to the upcoming national team camps coming up. U-20 starting july 6 in Colorado and WWC after that. They already lost two players to the World University games in Belgrade, Andreanne Gagné and Véronique Laverdière. They were starting to play really well. that will for sure affect the end of the season.
  12. A 6 teams tournament would be better. Add Danemark or Russia
  13. 14. One thing that maybe the impact and most people were not aware of is: the elevation I don't know are many feet, but not to many team goes and win there and I don't think it was a lack of fitness.
