Ottawa is in a less strong position than it would seem, as most of their minutes come from Assi (709), but as a loanee only the first 1000 minutes count. More than half of Pacific's minutes come from Gazdov, so even though Baskett has claimed the #1 you'd expect Emil to get some more games. Kadenge
it's disappointing to see some CPL teams so far off the pace for U21 mins. We get pissed with Cdn MLS teams for not playing their young Canadian players from time to time and in certain cases all the time, so it stings to see the mins for the bottom 3 clubs. Kent
I'm trying to figure out what happened with York United. Last season I think they lead the league in U21 minutes, maybe around 6000 or so minutes if my memory serves me. They have moved on a few players to other leagues (Lowell Wright, Ronan Kratt, and Isaiah Johnstone), a couple to other CPL teams (Cedric Toussaint, and Mamadou Kane), and one is still with the team but has aged out (Osaze DeRosario). So they have done well with moving players on, but haven't done well at replacing the departed youth with more youth. yothat2

Ozzie_the_parrot
Nash was there last season as well. Angus McNab may also be a big factor. Is there not some salary cap break related to having extra U-21 players? Maybe York were not chasing after that this season.
rydermike
I think York expected to be playing Voytsekhovskyy a lot more minutes than ended up happening and then planned for Afework to cover the rest when he returned from injury. They'll probably now have to bring someone in this window and also start giving Himaras some starts to accrue minutes K Edgar
