Zadorsky reveals her medical issues that started in mid-December with covid. Then numerous colds/flus, covid again in February, mental health deteriorated, mono and then tested positive for celiac disease.

"Those results, combined with playing 30-plus games, touching five continents, eight different countries and countless cities, all since July, may have just tipped me over the edge."

But she is now back training.

Two articles on some of the #CanWNT's more peripheral players:

Lysianne Proulx:

Marie-Yasmine Alidou:

Great to see the mainstream media covering their journeys. 👍

Another article on Alidou and her time in Portugal:

Looks like Amy Walsh at CFM is copying the Whitecaps. They're taking over the relatively new Programme Excel Feminin (PEF) team. They will now use the resources of CFM and wear their kits.

In April, during their tour of France, they beat PSG u19 team 3-1 and tied Paris FC 2-2. They wore CFM kits on this tour.

They play in Ligue 1 Quebec with the aim of having the best 15-18 year old players in the province. The current u20 squad has Jourde coming from PEF. Last year's u17 World Cup team had 4 players from PEF. Issue with Quebec players is taking the next step as the NCAA pathway isn't open for most. And as we have seen with the Whitecaps, it also doesn't necessarily mean more national team calibre players will be developed as the number of BC players have dropped off in the most recent years.

In Victoria and Vancouver for the last window of the year.

The Sinclair send off essentially.

1) I hope it is a weaker opponent to keep the occasion joyous.

2) They better invite Schmidt to honour her too. 2nd most caps all time. Her career with thr #CanWNT has been amazing and I don't think Scott will catch up to her in # of caps, so that 2nd place will stand for a long time.

Alberta will get a NDC starting next year.

The Centre will be governed by the ASA and serve U15 to U18 female players and provide direct contact and greater visibility to Canada Soccer for the selection to the youth National Teams. It joins programs currently running in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal.

The NDC will be part of Alberta's pathway to the Canadian Professional Women’s League.

More details to come as no location mentioned. No details about matches other than "games program throughout the year". It appears funding for coaches will come in part from Telus She CAN Coach program.

With 2023 in the books. three players tied for the goals leadership this year. But the win goes to Prince since she missed most of the matches.

3: Prince, Huitema, Leon
2: Lacasse
1: Awujo, Gilles, Quinn, D. Rose, Viens

With Priestman shift in tactics post World Cup. Lawrence became the team's playmaker with a clear lead in assists.

4: Lawrence
1:  Carle, Collins, Fleming, Lacasse, Leon, Schmidt

Congratulations and thank you to Christine Sinclair for an incredible career for the national team. I first watched her in the 2002 U19 World Championship, which means I've watched her for almost half my life.

Her first national team game in Canada was in Toronto with attendance of 9,023, and her last game in Canada drew 48,112 fans. That I think is an accurate representation of her impact.

I think we saw some real positives for this team out of the Gold Cup, in terms of developing offensive weapons. Leon will obviously get the most headlines (and may soon get the Golden Boot, with Ovalle also out), but Huitema’s progress over the last year has been very encouraging — now, maybe we could work on scoring more with her boot, but even just being a header specialist is very useful.
