Okay, I'm losing McKenna and Piette from Germany on the list...Piette will appear again somewhere, not sure if McKenna will.  He spent a LOT of time in Cologne, and I'm thinking being done there, for him, might mean being done.

Kevin McKenna is expected to stay at FC Koeln in some function. Btw, I uploaded that video and yes he has retired from Soccer, which was announced a few months ago.

Yeah, I heard through grapevine that he plans to stay in Germany and begin coaching.

technically I think their contract runs until June 30 (or at least until they find another club)

I know :) And usually I've been trying to keep this list technically correct that way, but then I tend to forget, and the list gets very unfortunately behind.  If I know a player is leaving a club, what's the harm?  If it turns out information is incorrect, I try to correct it graciously and efficiently.

Last Major Update Feb 3/2014

Last Minor Update May 8/2014

RULES: Minimum league criterion

It am going to base it off of UEFA's ratings for league coefficients.

http://www.uefa.com/memberassociatio...lub/index.html

If a player is in a league (at the time of posting)

Ranked 1-3: (ie, England, Germany, Spain) they will be tracked to the SIXTH tier. Will not post any tier lower than sixth.

Ranked 4-6: Will be tracked to the fifth tier.

Ranked 7-15: Will be tracked to the 4th tier

Ranked 16-30: Will be tracked to the 3rd tier

Ranked 31 or lower: Will be tracked to the 2nd tier only.

For youth systems looking for U-18 or higher.

For non european leagues, the equivalent will be used. For example, Brazil would compare to a 1-3 league, Argentina would compare to a 4-6 league, Uruguay, Japan, South Korea to 7-15. May be generous.

Exceptions will be made for players that have played in the Canadian system, be it senior or U-whatever, they will be posted no matter WHAT league they end up in.

COLOR INDEX

BLACK = Currently in National Team Pool. Has most recently played for a Canadian National Team.

RED = Full Canadian, with no split nationality, that has not yet played for a national squad. (not used a lot...most have played at least for a U squad)

BLUE = Player of split nationality that is undecided OR a Full Canadian that has shown (with proof) that they may not commit.

GREEN = Ties to Canada are slightly more tenuous. Born here, or lived here a short time. OR Canadian by heritage only. Likely to be listed as a different nationality on soccerway or transfermrkt. More unlikely to be Canadian national.

Note: Any player on the list that plays a game, be it a friendly, youth game, or what have you, for any other nation besides Canada will be removed from this list immediately. Any player on this list color coded red, blue or green that plays for Canada at any level will immediately be color coded black. Keep me updated!

I've been a long time lurker and decided to just create an account. Watching a bunch of Italian Serie A,B and C, I know that Justin Soscia on La Spezia Calcio is of Canadian and Italian citizenship.

I had thought (apparently incorrectly on checking?) that he had played for a Canada youth team at some point, which would indicate why he was colored that way.  My mistake...it's a long list.  I'll take care of the colour coding, and appreciate the input.  That said, if you could just keep your quotes to the relevant portion if quoting that would save me a lot of scrolling :)  Thanks sir

He has dual citizenship. He played soccer in Canada for some youth teams and for CSL North York Shooters. Then scouted for Italian team and signed with Serie B club. Team Ontario and Canada team ties.

I just saw on my LinkedIn page that Mike Klukowski is with Dijon in French League 2.

Can't find any story about him. He did start his European career there, so, unless I see somnething from  DFCO or Le Bien Public, the local newspaper, I won't believe it.

I also searched, including the Dijon website, and can find nothing I'm afraid...if it's true, it needs substantiation, and that will probably be unlikely until the start of next season I'm afraid.

Sorry guys. Mike's post in LinkedIn was for his first role as a pro (as madmonte mentioned). It says he's now a scout and consultant with LS7 management. LinkedIn can sometimes be a little misleading because any new information pops up as "Mike is NOW a footballer at Dijon" not WAS.
