Canadians MIA/UI List

Everyone in FCE had a poor year last year so I wouldn't hold that against him. Nice goal, hope he sticks with DC.

The lastest out of DC concerning Porter:

*Decisions about the other trialists — Honduran attacker Walter Martinez, Panamanian right wing Marcos Sanchez, Canadian winger Kyle Porter, Ugandan defender Henry Kalungi and forward Ryan Richter — are coming in the next few days.

Martinez and Sanchez have made favorable impressions and Porter “has been pretty good — pretty damn good,” Olsen said. (Martinez has U.S. permanent residency and would not count against the international player limit; Sanchez and Porter would.)

*The four players headed to the third-tier Richmond Kickers for the USL season have still not been determined, “but we have some ideas,” Olsen said. “Once we get the entire roster settled in the next couple of days, we will make some decisions about Richmond.”

DC just got Ruiz ... I don't think that's good news for Porter, but I hope I'm wrong about that.

Sherif El-Masri came home for a bit and flirted with signing for another club before getting called and told that Courts Young Lions were reversing their no foreigner policy for this season. He is definitely closer to not being considered a foreigner which will help his cause: http://www.foxsportsasia.com/football/sleague/news/detail/item937308/Young-Lions-bend-no-foreigner-rule-for-El-Masri/

Well, Trafford is indeed in China: https://mobile.twitter.com/mason_trafford/status/303104100936085504

My guess us that he is trialing with Guayang-based Super league club Guizhou Renhe

Unfortunately, it looks like he's signed with a club that just got promoted to the Chinese first division (i.e. 2nd-level):

Disappointing IMO ... can this be much stronger than Finnish top flight?

Trafford can probably get paid a bit more in China - or at least have a lower cost of living??? (speaking as someone not versed in world economy)

He wanted a change of scenery after Finland: http://www.theprovince.com/sports/soccer/Former+Whitecap+Mason+Trafford+finished+with+Finland/7717323/story.html

And he definitely got it. Wonder if his Guatemalan girlfriend went with him? How's her central American scouting knowledge?

Posted yesterday on facebook:

"JULIAN UCCELLO

Former professional footballer with AC Milan, FC Crotone, FBC Savona, Sansovino Calcio, Casale Calcio, AC Bellaria.

Will be working as a scout for GISS from Toronto, CANADA."

Does this mean he is hanging up his boots? Pity, if true. Only a couple years removed from making a half dozen appearances for a Serie B side. One of the MNT's great mysteries how he couldn't find a club (or perhaps a contract he liked) in North America.

Can BigBird confirm, I wonder?

Thanks, gentleman.

And Peters no longer with TFC. Must be close to the end of the road. Probably too "proud" to drop down to NASL. Obviously no interest from Lg. 1 or he probably never would have left the UK in the first place. What's left? Finland?

Maybe Frank Yallop has a soft spot for him still?....
