^ Thanks for the update. Just checked the Dresden site and he is with the club and played left back in a 7-0 exhibition win in Pirno (Czech Rep?) on Wednesday. He scored the 6th and 7th goals.

It is Pirna not Pirno and it is a small town near Dresden. Their team plays in the Sachsenliga which I think is the 6th division, ie. nice to score two goals but not very high level competition.

^ Great news. He would be a good fit. Target man for DeRo & Barrett to play off of. TFC need more depth up front.

he actually prefers to play as a #10.

he's not a striker.

at Almelo, he was an attacking midfielder for the reserve team and they also experimented with him as a defender at times in training

An interesting find. Anyone know if this kid is real, is Canadian, and where more info might be found?

Joshua Lamus - GK - Diriangén FC of Nicaragua

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diriang%C3%A9n_FC

Yep, it looks legit - it's Lemos, he's Canadian, and he's at Diriangén, the most accomplished Nicaraguan club of all time, apparently as their starting keeper:

Looks young: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Puej9HEkwgI/SxXq0pgiV_I/AAAAAAAAFB0/MuQPDXg3gyU/s1600-h/lemus.JPG

He comes up occasionally as Uruguayan and in the odd reference to Toronto futsal leagues. Was a North York Astro (like Haider, incidentally)

And it looks like he has been a part of youth setups, it looks like: http://www.canadasoccer.com/players/profile.asp?playerid=1654〈=fr&tab=games

The gk playing in Nicaragua is Josh Lemos.

He is a good keeper. Played in the CSL a few years back. He played for Boca Juniors in the Toronto Futsal League this winter.

His younger brother played for my OSL team for a period of time in 2009.

From the Soccer By Ives Blog:

"Gianluca Zavarise - Received his first cap for Canada in a 1-1 start against Venezuela on May 29. Zavarise recently moved from VFL Bochum (Bundesliga 2) to Egaleo F.C. of the Greek second division.

Marcel de Jong - After four season with Roda JC of the Dutch Eredivisie, de Jong moved to German side FC Augsburg (Bundesliga II) late last month."

If true about Zavarise, he will play in the 3rd Division as Egaleo have been relegated.

^ Considering he never played a game with the Bochum senior side and saw spot duty on their reserves (div 4 in Germany), I would say this is as good an opportunity as he can expect. Good luck to him in Greece.

I thought de Jong was slotted to make a big move somewhere. I could have swarn I read an article about that in Feb
