I hear an interview on Whitecaps FC Daily with him some time ago, and he made it very clear that he would be taking time off after the Championship season. Let's not forget that they play 46 games in the Championship, plus two cups, so it's safe to say that he could use the break.

Anton Peterlin is on trial with the 'Caps til June 12th

The San Francisco native most recently played for Walsall in England’s third tier, but notably signed for Premier League side Everton in 2009 after reportedly turning down contract offers from MLS clubs Chicago Fire and the San Jose Earthquakes. However, he never made a competitive appearance for the Toffees.

Also Salgado breaks foot on INT duty.

More chance for Tiebert and maybe Mattocks could go wide too.

Mattocks, Dede, Sanvezzo - all play wide left. And if Harris comes back even Le Toux could be moved to that high wide left position. Sadly, I don't see this benefiting Teibert getting playing time much at all....and yes it's extremely frustrating for this fan.

Long Tan has been suspended by the club after publicly complaining about his lack of playing time on twitter.

The caps already have 30 forwards, why is he even still on the roster? Cut him and loose and sign u18 defender Daniel Stanese please.

^Stanese, Fisk, Essa.....any of those three are preferably to LT. Not that LT doesn't deserve respect, but those 3 guys are young Canadians and better to have those guys at the end of the roster than a mid-20's foreigner.

Boxall, Franks, Tan <Stanese, Fisk, Essa.

I don't expect them to sign all of those guys, but it'd be nice if they signed one instead of keeping the deadwood.

Personally, I'm glad it's Tan and not Kyle Porter or REB or Haber complaining about being 20th or 22nd in the Caps pecking order. I also don't mind them cutting loose mediocre foreigners past their youth but not showing signs of a great pro career.

Tan seems like a good guy but his days are numbered.

@soccerpro - I agree with you re: Boxall and Franks. Add Klazura to that list as well. Plenty of early-mid 20 foreigners that have no chance at being MLS or international calibre players, and yet we've got some fairly exciting 18 year olds that we are better off investing in as their potential is from what we can tell far superior to those taking up the final roster spots now. They would also be off the books signings (I think?) which gives us room to improve in other areas (GK, CM, for example).

How has Aldersen looked in the reserve games? Would like to see him get some first team minutes!

By all accounts he's doing very well at the U18, PDL, and reserve level. He's adding to his tool kit, taking set pieces in the PDL and playing a more advanced role. However, the current midfiled three of Koffie, Thorrington, and Davidson have been excellent of late and it's only going to get more crowed when Barry Robson arrives.

Multiple sources have the Whitecaps signing U.S. National Team Captain Carlos Bocanegra

http://www.teamradio.ca/soccer/usa-captain-carlos-bocanegra-set-to-sign-for-whitecaps/

Huge move. The first of many to jump the sinking ship of Rangers. Americans Alejandro Bedoya and former TFC star Maurice Edu will also be looking for new clubs shortly.

Wow, man. Caps went from "one of the best d-lines in MLS" to probably "The best D-Line in MLS".

Edit: But your sources are still not 100%...it's likely, but not a done deal yet, so I don't wanna jinx it. Especially on a day where I'm wearing a whitecaps jersey. I own a TFC one too. How often do you hear someone say that? lol...I'm from Alberta, it's allowed.

Who will get cut to make room? At this rate, I have to ask, Teibert?

No, one source has us signing Bocanegra. Multiple sources are repeating that one source. That one source called us "Vancouver Rapids". This is more pathetic rumourmongering by the media.

UK papers often screw up North American team names. Just as American and Canadian papers mess up European team names. But it is far from rumormongering. Bocanegra's agent has said that MLS is a high possibility and Vancouver has the first allocation selection.
