Am curious to know about any current or former CanPL players who would be eligible for international call ups for other nations. For example, I assume the De Rosario brothers would be eligible for Guyana. Maybe this would be better as a new thread.

That's going to be a hell of a long list

Pacius, Roy and Toussaint are Haiti eligible.

Daniels and Vliet are Suriname eligible

Hundaal is India eligible (but probably won't play for them unless he's cool losing Canadian Citizenship)

Cela is Albania eligible

Baldisimo, Chung and Daniels are Philippines eligible (and it makes 0 sense that the latter two haven't been called ever by them, and the fact none have caps)

Zach Verhoven is eligible for Fiji

People have alluded that the Choiniere boys are some sort of Asian or Mexican but I've never been able to confirm if that's the case.

These are the ones who were easy enough to find out about.

I assume there's many others but unfortunately there isn't a lot of information on a lot of Canadian players and their backgrounds.

And the 🇨🇦/🇭🇹 from Ottawa scores!

Edit: The match finishes 1-1 to kill both the hopes of Suriname and Haiti of going to the Copa America.

Dream of a Copa including the big five Américan official languages (incl. Dutch) is over. Martinique are still alive, otherwise Canada would remain the flag-bearer for Francophone América...

Andre Rampersad (HFX) and Malcolm Shaw (Ottawa) (along with Ryan Telfer (formerly with York, Ottawa)) start of Trinidad and Tobago vs USA in CONCACAF Nations League quarter final.  Scoreless at the half, although T&T is down to 10 men.

Edit: Rampersad and Shaw subbed out in the 66 minute with the game scoreless.  Wheels came off shortly after and T&T went on to lose 0-3.

Interestingly Kristian Lee-Him was on the bench, he is a Canadian who’s done a lower division tour through Slovenia, Germany, and Sweden. 30 years old now.

Brem Soumaoro (York) was subbed out after only 28 minutes in Liberia's 0-1 lose to Malawi in World Cup Qualifying.

Brem Soumaoro was an unused sub in yesterday's 0-1 defeat to Equatorial Guinea.  Picked up a knock in the Nov 17 game?

Guyana squad includes a few names familiar with CanPL:

Quillan Roberts (ex-Forge), Jonathan Grant (York), Marcus Simmons (ex-Vancouver, now at Valletta in Malta), Osaze De Rosario (York).  I note they only have two keepers in the squad for this round of matches. They seem to be missing a few key players.

Guyana thrashed Antigua and Barbuda 6-0. Roberts and Grant both started with De Rosario and Simmons both coming off the bench. De Ro taking 20 minutes to hit his first international goal.
