Biennial is dead.  According to Marcotti, the buzz is a compromise for every 3 years.  3 years was always my personal preference.

This means that there will be some years where the WC will conflict with the Summer Olympics.   Hmmm, a lot sponsors wont like that IMHO.   By sponsors i mean sponsors for both FIFA and the IOC.

PS.:  Rights holders (Broadcaster) as well

And don't forget the Euro's. This won't be as simple as they make it sound.

I’d also like them to play with the format a bit if they insist on holding it more frequently with more teams.
Maybe for the 2030 edition make it a true global tournament for the 100th Anniversary. 64 teams qualify.  Hold 4 regional group stages (1 Europe. 1 NAmerica, 1 Asia, 1 Africa) with 16 teams each divided into 4 groups of 4…Just like NCAA basketball March Madness, ‘mix up’ the teams - don’t have all Europe teams play in the Europe regional - have a proper draw.  After the round robin have top 2 teams cross over against another group in their region for one elimination playoff and have the final 16  make it to the ‘Finals’ location in SAmerica (which should involve Uruguay). One more 4 by 4 group stage, top 2 make it to quarters, then semis and final.

Maybe in the next edition have a knockout only tournament to make it shorter.  Alternate between more traditional group stage style and quick knockout only after that.

Three years is almost a stupid as two. Hopefully this entire nonsensical idea just withers and dies.

No, three years is still plenty long enough for fans to miss it and continents to run their own tournaments.  It would force the continental tournaments to a three year cycle meaning the Gold Cup and AFCON would be played less frequently.  The Euros is moving to 32 teams so there is zero need for Euro qualifiers anymore.  The 48 team WC format removes the need for excessively long qualifying formats like we just experienced in CONCACAF.

The three year cycle would ensure players get a summer off and there would be a free year for the Women's World Cup to have breathing space.

The Olympics "conflict" is constantly brought up but there's already a similar conflict with the Euros the same summer as the Olympics.  The Olympics usually start a month after the end of the Euros and if there's any side negatively impacted, it's not the Euros which is close behind the World Cup for revenue generation and gets bigger with every edition.
