Portugal

Stephen Eustaquio starting for Pacos de Ferreira vs Famalicao

Update:  Pacos go up 1-0 in the 20th minute.  Just assisted the 2nd goal in the 88th minute.

With the win today, Pacos jump all the way up into 5th place which is the final Europa League spot.  This puts them behind only the big 4 teams of  Portugal (Porto, Sporting, Benfica & Braga).  And Pacos had a game in hand in the league with every other team besides Moreierense.

Portugal

Stephen Eustaquio played the full 90 min in a 1-0 over Steven Vitoria's Moreirense.  Vitoria remained on the bench.  It was their make-up game.

Yann Fillion makes the step up in Finland from the Ykkönen (second tier) with Ekenäs up to the Veikkausliiga (first tier) with newly-promoted side Oulu for 2021 - believe it's also a club option for 2022.

Ottawa-born keeper, put in quite a few games with EIF, in a 1A/1B situation with their second keeper Jiri Koski. Across the pair, it was enough to take the team up to 4th place in the Ykkönen in 2020. Will be interesting to see the keeper duel at Oulu next season (Finnish season starts back up in April, COVID-pending).

From a Finnish friend:

"Expectations: Backup, probably sees 5-7 games in the league. The club wanted a young goalkeeper with reach and the ability to claim crosses as their first-choice is quite short for the position. Fillion's season at EIF wasn't exactly a shining success story and their fans considered the other keeper to have played better, though he got a lot of starts despite reports of mediocre performances."

Singapore

[SPL] Jordan Webb (Tampines Rovers) saw the second 45' in a 1-1 draw against Lion City. The single point means Tampines punch a ticket for the 2021 AFC Champions League group stages.

[SPL] Danial Scott Crichton (Young Lions) saw the full 90' in a 2-1 loss to Geylang International.

Norway

[ELT] Simon Thomas (Sarpsborg 08) served as the backup for Sarpsborg, with the club finding an 85th-minute equaliser to take a point off Kristiansund who started the day in 5th. The point moves S08 up to 12th, 6 points clear of the relegation playoff spot and 9 points clear of a direct drop with 3 games left to play this season.

[ELT] Sam Adekugbe (Vålerenga) had the start against Stabaek, going 73' in a 1-1 draw. The draw means Vålerenga hold onto 3rd with 48 points and a +13GD. Rosenborg behind in 4th are on 45 points and an identical +13GD but have a game in hand on VIF, while Kristiansund lead the chasing pack in 5th on 44 points. This means VIF will carry a cushion of 4 points into the final 3 games of the season, as they look for a top-four finish that would take them into Europe for next season.

UEFA Europa League

[Group D] Scott Arfield's Rangers take on Standard Liège. Kickoff on DAZN at 3:00pm ET.

  • Rangers currently hold top spot in Group D over Benfica on H2H, and can stay there with either a win, or a draw + Benfica draw/loss, or a loss + Benfica loss. Rangers can also guarantee progression to the knockouts with a win today.

[Group H] Jonathan David's Lille take on Sparta Prague. Kickoff on DAZN at 12:55pm ET.

  • Lille currently hold top spot in Group H over Milan by a point, and can stay there with either a win, or a draw + Milan draw/loss, or a loss + Milan draw/loss (Lille hold H2H over Milan). Lille can also guarantee progression to the knockouts with a win today.

[Group L] Milan Borjan's Crvena zvezda take on Hoffenheim. Kickoff on DAZN at 12:55pm ET.

  • Zvezda cannot drop from 2nd today, and can take top spot in the group with a win by more than two over Hoffenheim (to overcome Hoffenheim's H2H advantage). Zvezda can guarantee their progression to the knockouts if they get at least a single point from today.

USA

[MLS] Raheem Edwards, Greg Ranjitsingh and Dayne St. Clair's Minnesota United take on Sporting Kansas City in their conference semifinals tie. Kickoff is at 8:30pm ET, with the game on TSN1 and TSN4. A win for Minnesota would see them through to a Western Finals matchups against Seattle, with Seattle having the hosting rights.

UEFA Europa League

[Group D] 86' and a goal for Scott Arfield today, as his Rangers side fought hard for a 3-2 win over Standard. RSCL took two leads in this one, but Arfield's goal meant Rangers took all three points out of this one, which also books their place in the UEL round of 32.

[Group H] Jonathan David goes the full 90' for Lille, picking up the hockey assist on Yilmaz's goal and drawing both yellows on Čelůstka that took Sparta down to ten men for the final 26 minutes, as Lille punch their tickets to the round of 32 with a 2-1 comeback win over Sparta, having originally gone down to their ten men in the 71st minute. Lille needed two goals in the 80th and 84th from Yazici and Yilmaz respectively to pull through.

[Group L] Milan Borjan had the start for Crvena zvezda, casually pulling out a shutout performance against Hoffenheim, as the Serbian side played to a 0-0 draw against Hoffenheim at home. The single point takes them into the round of 32 as well, as Group L shakes out to Hoffenheim and Zvezda qualifying in 1st and 2nd. Milan also gets MoTM honours for his troubles, after making a number of big saves (6 saves total).

All told, a solid night for the CanMNT lads, as all three find themselves awaiting a round of 32 draw in a couple weeks' time.

  • UPDATE: GOAL, Arfield! He makes the same late unmarked run that's been his bread and butter all season, and Rangers go up 3-2 with just under 25 to go.
  • UPDATE #2: Arfield off after 86'. A good night for Arfield - maybe could've been a tad more solid defensively, but made his trademark run for the all-important goal that should put Rangers through at this point.

[Group H] Jonathan David goes the full 90' for Lille, picking up the hockey assist on Yazici's goal and drawing both yellows on Čelůstka that took Sparta down to ten men for the final 26 minutes, as Lille punch their tickets to the round of 32 with a 2-1 comeback win over Sparta, having originally gone down to their ten men in the 71st minute. I think it was Yilmaz, wasn't it? I believe he had a brace.
