Cornelius defended that play quite well, actually. He pushed the player wide into an impossible scoring angle and then took up a position that would normally take away the cut back into the box. Not his fault that Hasal didn't deal with the hit-and-hope shot that should have been pushed out for a corner. After that, you have to look at the rest of the back line who were standing around with their thumbs in their butts.

Much like Binks against Laryea earlier in the week, Cornelius took the wrong initial angle and got caught out somewhat.  But Hasal was cheating off the near post looking for the cross and should have dealt with that.

The first three goals in this match came from keeper postioning or decision making errors.

Hasal is a 20-year old forced into serious first-team minutes much earlier than anybody expected. I'm more than willing to accept that he's going to have some tough moments, or even whole games, because it's clear that he's going to be a serious 'keeper with time, experience, and maybe 10-15 lbs of muscle.

No doubt.  He was due for a let down and he'll learn from it.

first game of the weekend and seattle easily beating lafc..bradley has to be under heavy pressure..just not able to turn it around up to now

On the highlights it looked like a tough night for Jakovic, as well, chicken winging a ball for a penalty and then getting beaten by Ruidiaz's great anticipation and first touch on the third.

Atuesta came on as a sub so that may help going forward but I actually like Vancouver's chances against this back line next week.

Injured/playing badly or tactical?

Whitecaps are kind of ok now?

They were a man up but looked like a man down for most of that half after Milinkovic's goal.  But a win's a win.

Stories of Montero's decline have been premature, apparently.
