ESPN FC had this graph comparing Ottawa's wage bill to Toronto. They show the Fury at 2.33 million US. That seems astronomical and has to be wrong. Did anybody watch the episode? Any idea where they got that number?

Could it be a number from an earlier season when they still had players like JDG on board?

Definitely quite high, unless all the previous assessments of average NASL wage bills generally and Ottawa's specifically were totally out to lunch. Those pegged Ottawa at around $1 million or slightly under and their wage budget has gone down since moving to the USL. Not to mention that that number implies the average Fury player has a salary of slightly over $100k, which is totally incorrect.

So it isn't old it just seems to be inaccurate somehow, it's definitely possible it is all the first team's operating costs put together and that was the only number they could find given that both clubs are pretty secretive about contracts.

TFC's wage bill estimate also seems to be a bit high at nearly $22 million.

I think Paul Dalglish said none of his players were paid as much as any of the TFC players who made the minimum wage of $60,000 in the MLS, so you can take from that nobody on the Fury is paid $60,000, i would think the highest paid players on Fury are Rozeboom/Williams/Irving/Edwards and maybe Dixon.

TFC's number is right between the base and guaranteed numbers from here:

So if Ottawa's is including coaching staff, or full value of contracts, etc., then it isn't a like for like comparison. I imagine they just didn't have good numbers on Ottawa and they gave them the benefit of the doubt (or padded their numbers) because the point would still be that TFC spends waaaaay more money than Ottawa.

Irving very weak on Toronto's goal, was more than six yards out when Uccello took the shot from 25 yards. He too often lacks the application of basic gk skills and positioning and at times has low awareness. Should not be Ottawa's #1 next season

Ottawa Fury v Montreal Impact  Wed July 12 will now be  a thank you game to Julian De Giz man who will come out of retirement for one game so that the Fury can officially recognize him for all of his accomplishments in his career.
